American Martial Laws: War Made Easy (Narrated by Sean Penn)

War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from Lyndon B. Johnson to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.

We are gradually becoming accustomed to the idea of perpetual war. One enemy will be defeated and replaced with another. Money will continue to be spent on engagements against dictators that we once called allies. New allies are being funded and trained who will one day become our future enemies. When will it end? Will it ever end? Are we as Americans simply easy to fool? Why is this happening over and over again? How can it be stopped?

The moment that wars became a profitable business venture supported by powerful lobbyists were we doomed to repeat the same mistakes? Who is really in charge of US foreign policy - the politicians or the corporations?
