It seems like many look to Antarctica for it's hidden potential nowadays. Now China has got their eyes on this icy mass of land, soon to be ice free within the century. Could they be planning for the long term and be considering tapping the plentiful resources hidden under the ice of Antarctica? Unlike the planning that goes on in the US for the future of its citizens, China appears to have very big plans for itself and its people in the years to come. With recent trips to space, and with a steady growth,

I would go as far as to say that China
1- Listens to their scientists,
2-Plans long term for its civilization
3-Desires to thrive in the future both on and off planet

This sure is nice. Used to be, America had to be the one to do all these things like investigating water on the moon. Now that India did it, there's no secrecy and NASA simultaneously announces there may be a lot of water on the moon. We landed there 40 years ago and you're just now telling us?!

So hopefully China will finally let us in on what our government already knows. By the by, research Lake Vostok, it's amazing!!!

"The map is also based on 1,073 images acquired from the U.S. satellite Land sat mainly during the austral summer from 1999 to 2002,according to Cheng Xiao, deputy dean of the College of Global Change and Earth System Science"

America had a part to play in this as well

Quoted from the OP's article

The chinese are just piecing the images together.

More evidence of a massive conspiracy to shield and hide Santa Clause's location.

Why no exhaustive mapping of the North Pole?

I think the evidence on this is pretty clear!

China is now, where the United States used to be.

The USA has gotten too eat up with its own greed on wall street to give a #*($ about science any more.

It really is depressing, as an American, to know this to be fact. But as someone has has a deep love for exploration and science in General...i'm glad there are other countries who can fill that gap and continue the expansion of human-kind.
