UFO Abductions from Moving Vehicles

As reader of many abduction accounts, I have found that the ones that were most compelling and relevant in the regard that we are not dealing with a man-made scenario, are the ones in which a victim or victims were taken from a moving vehicle, returned and no memory of what had just happened. Often the victim arrives later than they thought they should and it is at this crossroads of the surreal that the person begins to sense a feeling of "Missing Time".

Then there are the most terrifying of account where aircraft are taken from the sky before witnesses and no trace ever to be found.

I will start with a series of accounts from the 1947 Project out of Australia and build from there. These really rattle me as this particular type of scenario lets one know quite emphatically that you really never have total control of your physical person. There was nothing that these folks apparently could do in their defense and the ghastly memories are wiped away like smudges on glass. Terrifying.

UFO Abductions from motor vehicles

From PROJECT 1947




16 Mar 1996 Casino NSW Ca 2100hrs 2 males/2 females Longley family [5] The family of four were travelling by car and observed lights in the sky, before arriving home later than they thought they should have arrived. Next day, all four suffered from cold-like symptoms with Mrs L experiencing a sore left ovary, a sore throat and a bleeding vagina. After contacting a UFO researcher, the two adults under hypnosis, recalled aliens removing them from their car. Scott recalled finding himself naked on a table somewhere, where a medical examination was conducted. The space, in which the table was located, had windows to it, out of which he could see tall buildings. Suddenly he found himself back in his vehicle. 2-2.3m tall creatures with a wrinkled appearance and long necks were present. They communicated telepathically with him. Wendy's recollections were "vague and blurred" compared to Scott's. She recalled being on a table with 8-10 figures around her. She had no recall of a physical examination or communication between herself and the beings. Articles about the event appeared in local NSW papers and numerous television and radio stations, both on a local and national level carried the story. (Keith Basterfield 1996.)






July 1972 and subsequently Frankston Vic 1 female Maureen Puddy [2] Mrs Maureen Puddy reported observing a disc shaped object in the sky. Later she related that her car stopped itself as the same object hovered overhead. Several months later she recounted being "mentally" abducted into a round room, and of observing an entity there, one point six metres tall, wearing a ski-suit and apparently male. This room was evenly lit, but there was no apparent source of illumination. This latter event took place whilst two other people, Victorian UFO Research Society investigators Paul Norman and Judith Magee, were physically present with Mrs Puddy. However, they only reported that Mrs Puddy lapsed into unconsciousness, and verbally described to them what was happening to her, to them. 24 Oct 1981 Port Lincoln SA 2 males [2] Two young men, Messrs P. and J. were travelling in a car near Port Lincoln when they encountered a "white endless space" or room where a time loss of several hours is said to have occurred. During this lost time they have vague memories of a "being" and recalled "...walking into a big room." Just prior to the "space" they had been watching a mysterious light in the sky. Arrangements to have the two men undergo full investigation was unsuccessful. The being was described as one point two metres tall, and humanoid. (1. Here is the absolute worst case scenario. The victims are taken, vehicle and all.




Oct/Nov 1970 Nullabor Plains 2 people [0] Driving in a panel van, two people noted a bright, white light over the vehicle. The driver found they had no control over steering or speeds. The vehicle seemed to be up in the air. Finally they somehow found themselves back on the road. Some 32 hours of missing time. Their watches had stopped. UFO Abductions From Aircraft

This fellow just plain dissappeared plane an all after witnesses saw his aircraft with a strange, green light. Again this account is from Australia. For some reason, they have a tendency to be a little more open about these things. Fortunate for me.




The Bass Strait Incident "Frederick Valentich" was a 20-year-old pilot who disappeared in 1978, off the coast of Victoria, Australia. Why or how he vanished is not known. However, the time of his disappearance coincides with an unusually high number of reported sightings of UFO's in the area. Thanks to the "Victorian UFO Research Society," in excess of fifty reported UFO sightings have been documented during the period from September to late October 1978. On the evening of October 21, 1978, "Frederick Valentich" left Melbourne's airport and was heading to King Island. While flying over Bass Strait, he and his aircraft vanished completely. To add to the credibility of this event, there are documented Transcripts from communication between "Mr. Valentich" and the "Melbourne Flight Service." "Mr. Valentich" requested that the flight service check for traffic in his vicinity, below 5,000 feet. He was informed that none existed. This caused considerable confusion, as he could clearly see an aircraft containing bright lights. This craft passed above an estimated 1,000 feet above him, then turned due east, toward him at speeds he could not even begin to estimate. He described the craft as "a long shape" and moving at great speed. It also was metallic and possessed a green light. He commented that the craft appeared to be "playing games" with him, approaching from various directions, and then would simply hover, then disappear. Suddenly, "Mr. Valentich's" plane, a model 182 Cessna, began to "cough." All during these transmissions, the communication would break up, and the Flight Service had only "dead air." Finally, he advised that he intended to go to King Island and that the craft was hovering above him. Altogether, this communication lasted 6 minutes. At the end of this transmission, an unusual sound was heard, there was 17 seconds of "dead air" and then, nothing. At the same time as this mystery was being played out in the air, there were at least 20 individuals in the general area around bass Strait who observed a green light at the very same time that this 20 year old pilot was making his report. As has been known to happen when events like this occur, additional information came to the surface several years after "Mr. Valentich" vanished. Four witnesses confirmed they saw both the Cessna AND the UFO flying above it. Their reason for withholding the information is what you would expect. They feared being teased, and made fun of, but their combined conscience finally persuaded them to admit to their sighting. Since no evidence was ever found, we will never know what happened on that October evening. "Mr. Frederick Valentich" and his Cessna have been added to the list of unknowns.

What happened to Frederick Valentich? As we write these words five years after his enigmatic, widely-publicized disappearance, no one knows. so for all the evidence points to an annswer too fantastic for many people to consider: that the young pilot and his plane were snatched out of the air by a UFO. By Rocky Wood At 7:06 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 1978, as Frederick Valentich, 20, was flying south from Melbourne, Australia to King Island near Tasmania, he radioed ground control with what seemed like a routine query. He asked if there were any known aircraft in his area below 5000 feet. The Melbourne Flight Service Unit (FSU) told him there was none. Valentich didn't agree. "Seems to be a large aircraft below 5000 feet," he responded/ "What type of aircraft?" Flight Controller Steve Robey asked. "I can't confirm. It has four bright lights . . . appear to be landing lights. Aircraft has just passed over mne at about 1000 feet above." " Is large aircraft confirmed?" "Affirmative," the pilot said. "At the speed it is traveling, are there any RAAF aircraft in the vininity?" "Negative," FSU assured him. After a brief pause Valentich radioed back at 7:08 P.M. "Melbourne, it's approaching from due east towards me," he reported. "It seems to be playing some sort of game, Flying at a speed I cannot estimate." "What is your altitude?" "4500 feet." "Can you confirm you can't identify aircraft?" "Affirmative." One minute later Valentich said, "It's not an aircraft. It's--" His voice faded our. Flight Controller Robey waited for a time, then asked, "Can you describe aircraft?" Valentich's transmission returned. "It is flying past," he said. "It is a long shape. Cannot identify more than that. Coming for me right now. It seems to be stationary. I'm orbiting and the thing is orbiting on top of me also. It has a green light and sort of metallic light on the outside." Valentich then said the object seemed to have vanished. FSU: "Confirm it has vanished." Valentich: "Affirmative. Do you know what sort of aircraft I've got? Is it military?" FSU:"No military aircraft in the area." At 7:12 Valentich reported, "Engine in rough-idling and coughing." FSU acknowledged that message and then heard a "long metalic noise" over the radio. And then all contact with the aircraft and its pilot was lost. Within hours the story had become an international sensation. The next morning newspapers all across Australasia were giving it headline treatment and by evening the entire world had been alerted to the most spectacular UFO related incident in years. When Valentich, who had been flying his Cessna 182 to King Island both to pick up crayfish and to build up his night flying hours, failed to turn up at the island at his scheduled arrival time of 7:28, light aircraft began a visual and a radio search which was to last five days, until the following Thursday. All Sunday an RAFF Orion, a long range maritime reconnaissance aircraft popular with the RAFF and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, searched the area off Cape Otway at the north end of Tasmania, where the aircraft was last heard from. It discovered an oil slick 16 miles north of Cape Wickham and the crew planted a marker buoy at the spot. The Orion also reported "wreckage" about 25 miles from Cape Wickham, on King Island. A boat sent from the island retrieved the "wreckage" which turned out to be nothing more than submerged cardboard fruit cartons and plastic bags. Another boat collected samples of the oil slick. These were sent to Melbourne for tests, which revealed the material to be diesel fuel from a ship. In the meantime reports of UFO sightings in the general area of the plane's disapperance increased dramatically. Although many of the reports probably were of misidentified conventional objects, others seem more difficult to explain. Only an hour after Valentich's exchange with the Melbourne Flight Service Unit, a couple on the south coast of New South Wales, Wayne and Rosaline Bellow, watched a bright white UFO perform "impossible aerobatics" over the ocean. An hour after that, at Queenscliff on Victoria's southern tip, Barbara Bishop reported what appeared to be a Ferris wheel spinning across the sky. In the following days other reports came from Geelong, Frankston, Brighton and Cape Otway. Some described the object as "brilliantly lit, oblong in shape and moving very quickly." Others said they saw unusual flashes of light which remained in the sky for several seconds. But official sources were not long in supplying an "explanation" for the plane's ddisappearance. The Australian Department of Transportation suggested Valentich had become disoriented and was flying upside down during the conversation with ground control. " It is possible the pilot was seeing light reflected off cloud from the Cape Otway lighthouse and one at King Island as he flew upside down in the early evening light," a spokesman said. In view of the facts that flying connditions were ideal, with fine weather and almost unlimited visibility, and that the aircraft carried a "black box" radio survival beacon transmitting on a high distress frequency, this explanation seems farfetched. Aviation authorities dismissed the department's theory as absurd. They pointed out that the Cessna 182 would have been able to fly "inverted" for no more than 50 seconds because its fuel tanks were in the wings and relied on gravity to feed the motor. Also, a veteran flyer Authur Schutt, head of an Australian aviation company, observed, "In that half-light the pilot would have soon known if the aircraft had started to turn upside down. The carpet comes out of the floor and the butts fall out of the ashtray." Flight Controller Robey also had his doubts about the theory:"I don't believe he [Valentich] was disoriented because he was communicating quiet clearly."

But the upside-down theory was reasonable compared to others put forward by would-be-debunkers. The Department of Transport, expressing confidence that "there is usually some practical explanation," trotted out the old Project Blue Book claims that "UFO's" inevitably turn out to be satellites, Venus, reflections off clouds and other conventional phenomena."As for things seen from aircraft these can usually be put down to atmospheric conditions," a Transport spokesman said in response to criticisms of the upsids-down theory. He then went on to speculate imaginatively that the plane may have been hit by a meteorite! A Melbourne scienties ascended even farther into the wild blue yonder when he proposed that an "aura caused by sunspots at night"--whatever that means-- may have caused Valentich to believe a UFO was approaching him. Guido Valentich, the father of the missing flyer, sai dhe hoped a UFO had been involved in his son's disappearance. "I would rather that than them finding the wreckage of the plane," he said. " The fact that they have found no trace of him really verifies the fact that UFOs could have been there. . . . I believe he was sucked up into the air by a UFO and then forced back to earth somewhere--central Australia perhaps." Rhonda Rushton, the pilot's 16-year-old girl friend, believes Valentich landed in rugged bushland near Cape Otway and is still alive. Miss Rushton went to the Cape hoping to find him but returned red-eyed and empty-handed. She vehemently denied she had gone there for a motel rendezvous with her boyfriend. "I only went there to see what the bush was like here he might have landed," she insisted. "I still think he's alive and we won't stop searching for him until we know for sure what has happened." The elder Valentich also reacts angrily to suggestions that the disappearance is an elaborate, carefully planned hoax. "What about the family's fellings?" he says. "What about my son's career? It is outrageous to suggest he is hiding somewhere." Speculation about a possible hoax was fueled by press reports that Guido Valentich was a long-time UFO buff and that his son also had an interest, although apparently a less intense one, in the subject. The father said frankly that his son "believes in UFOs and he told me he has seen classified material at the Sale RAAF base which confirmed his beliefs." Skeptics found a statement of Rhonda Rushton's even more interesting: "He told me once," she said, "that if a UFO did come to earth he would go back with it but not without me." She added, "We talked about UFOs but he wasn't as keen on them as some people have said." Australasian ufologists were not so quick to embrace the UFO explanation as many members of the general public seemed to be. Dr. Jan F. de Bock, director of UFO investigations for New Zealand's largest UFO group, the Earth Colonization Research Association, said he considered UFO involvement "unlikely" but said his group would reserve final judgment until "full investigations are made by governmental and UFO authorities." But there is precedent in the literature of ufology for reported UFO abductions of aircraft. The best known and best-documented--occurred over Lake Superior on November 23, 1953, when an F-89 interceptor vanished while in pursuit of a UFO. Air Defense Command radar equipment at Kinross Air Force Base near Soo Locks, Mich., tracked the jet and the UFO until blips of the two craft merged. The blip of the UFO then streaked off the scope. No trace of the F-89 or its two occupants was ever found. Less well known are two reports described to Tom Comella by Master Sergeant O. D. Hill of Project Blue Book. In an article published in the May 1961 issue of FATE ("Have UFOs 'Swallowed' Our Aircraft?") Comella claims that in October 1955 Hill, then stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, told him and fellow ufologist Edgar Smith about two separate incidents, one involving an F-89 interceptor and the other a transport plane with 26 persons aboard, in which radar had witnessed UFOs abducting aircraft. There have been persistent but so far unverified rumors of other such cases. A month after Frederick Valentich's disappearance, three possible explanations for the incident remained: (1) His plane crashed into Bass Strait for reasons having nothing to do with UFOs. This is the Department of Transport's official view but so far there is no evidence to support it. (2) Valentich engineered an elaborate hoax. To date this supposition rests mainly on the suspicion, valid or invalid, that his interest in UFOs and his speculations about being taken up in one inspired him to stage a phony UFO abduction. Solid evidence that this is what in fact took place has yet to come to light. (3) A UFO stole away with Valentich and his airplane. The direct evidene: Valentich's radio reports to the Melbourne Flight Service Unit. The circumstantial evidence: the other UFO reports in the area immediately after his disappearance. To this we might add whaat could be termed the "negative evidence" : namely, the absence of solid evidence for (1) and (2). Perhaps the full truth will be known by the time you read this. Or perhaps it never will be known.

These type of experiences are just the most befuddling of all. You have witnesses and no sign of a recovered body or crashed aircraft.

The most interesting element in the motor vehicle cases to me is the fact that these people are taken from the moving vehicle, have whatever done to them and are then returned to a moving vehicle and the vehicle did not deviate from course or crash.

This one took place in Sedona, Arizona



Invited Aboard and Healed In 1995, retired couple William and Rose Shelhart experienced a missing time encounter with a UFO outside of Sedona, Arizona. As they drove along an isolated road, they saw a light following them. It appeared first ahead of behind them, as if playing a game of hide and seek. Suddenly, the light zoomed down out of the sky and landed into a field next to their car. The couple promptly lost consciousness. Their next memory was of stumbling into a hotel hours later. Realizing they had experienced missing time, they underwent hypnosis during which they recalled that they weren’t abducted, but were invited onboard. Says Rose, "We weren’t kidnapped or abducted. We voluntarily boarded and we were welcome. We sought them out and we climbed aboard, not being abducted as ‘in force.’ Rose was surprised at the appearance of the ETs. As she says, "They looked a lot more like people than some of those sketches do. A lot more. Their eyes were a little larger than any white person’s big eyes would be, but they were just not enormous. They looked like they could pass for us if they wished. And they glowed with a blue aura which made me feel reassured, kind of on a mental level, that they were peaceful." Rose was also surprised by their clothing. "Something like a military outfit, but not anything I have ever seen, and I’ve been in Europe and here and so forth. But it would resemble that because they were all alike, but more loose-fitting, but with belt. Uniforms, but it looked structured more like, ‘I mean business.’ Another surprise was the lack of technological equipment on board. "Oh, there were all kinds of lights, but very few actual gizmos like we have on any aircraft here. [It was] like they didn’t need them. It didn’t look like they needed too many things. It’s like they almost had mind control to get the thing going. But there were little lights, I guess for monitors and things." Rose recalled other details regarding the ETs place of origin and their intentions on Earth. William, however, was not a good hypnotic subject and was unable to recall anything other than the craft landing and them being invited onboard. William had experienced an earlier terrifying episode with missing time, so he was somewhat relieved that their encounter turned out to be benevolent. Later, William and Rose had another encounter in their isolated home in Hawaii, which confirmed for them that the ETs were interested in their welfare. His first clue occurred upon waking up one morning and finding a strange mark on his body. Says William, "I woke one morning and I felt an itch on my right foot and discovered three puncture wounds in a perfect triangle. They were in the process of scabbing over. I sleep on a waterbed, so nothing could have scratched it. My wife was the only witness. I felt something itching on my right ankle, and that’s when I looked. Because there’s no way possible in the night I could have done this, and that’s when it happened." William was concerned by the marks because it was obvious that they were not natural. But what could they be? The answer came about two weeks later when the same incident occurred again, only this time William was awakened by an unexplained bright beam of light entering into his bedroom. Says William, "I woke in the middle of the night with a bright light coming in the back window. It lasted about thirty to sixty seconds. I froze and could not get out of bed to look outside. My backyard is a jungle of coconut trees and plants. As I live in the country, no car could get there in that time. When the light came in the back window, it was just as bright as could be. I couldn’t believe it, and there’s nothing in the back. There’s no way a car could have gotten in there. I mean, that’s what it looked like -- somebody’s headlight shining right into the window. I remember waking up and seeing that. This was just kind of shocking thing." William’s first instinct was to get up and investigate. Strangely, however, he found himself paralyzed. Seconds later, he felt himself being put to sleep. When morning came and he awoke, he immediately remembered the incident that had occurred in the middle of the night. He could only shake his head in wonder. Then he looked down to his right arm and received an incredible shock. Says William, "My right wrist was itching. The same thing happened -- three puncture wounds in a perfect triangle…I woke up and found those triangular pin-pricks on my right hand. And this was the hand I used when I carried mail. This was in constant use. And they were very fresh, because you could still see, they had just about scabbed over. I showed them to my wife immediately. I said, ‘My God! Look at this thing. It’s perfect. It’s a perfect triangle." William had worked for years as a postal worker and had developed severe carpel-tunnel syndrome in his right wrist, as well as permanent damage in his left ankle. However, immediately following the two above incidents, he noticed a dramatic improvement in his health. "I went and got myself a hot tub. I didn’t everything I could to take some of that pain away. And it wasn’t until after my incident that things started to get better. I just know that I progressed and started to get better. Since thin, I have been 90 percent cured….I am almost sixty-seven years old and I can hang off a twenty-foot ladder placing the weight on my right foot and paint with my right hand, day after day. I really don’t care if people doubt my explanation. I know what I feel." William and Rose are the perfect example of people who have moved beyond the typical abduction scenario. Not only were they healed, but they have now become healers themselves. This pattern has turned up in other cases. Says Rose, "Both of us have become more and more interested in helping people in alternative healing ways. Even William, he has this energy in his hands that he didn’t have before….now it’s like I feel this heat coming out that’s really good. And people say they feel it out of me too. And I say, ‘Oh, where did I get this from.’ I have a lot of good result stories from the neighborhood. But I’m grateful, because I think it [the UFO connection] has a lot to do with it."

Six Hours Onboard a UFO In 1972, when he was 12 years old, Jack Stephens was abducted from his vehicle in full view of his mother and brother. He was lifted up inside a beam of light and taken inside an enormous craft the size of a small building. He experienced a six-hour-long encounter aboard the UFO before being deposited back into the car. The stunned family drove home, with most of the event shrouded in amnesia. They recalled only a powerful light hitting the car, the engine turning off and a slight floating sensation. Their next memory was the light turning off, the car engine turning on and six hours had passed. It was a typical missing time encounter. Years later, as an adult, Jack bit down on an impacted wisdom tooth. This caused a flood of memories to burst forth. Jack suddenly recalled everything that happened. In most respects, Jack experienced the typical abduction scenario. He recalled being taken aboard onto the craft. He was laid out on a table and examined. They poked at his feet, probed inside his mouth. Jack is unable to recall the appearance of the beings, only that they were short and incredibly scary-looking. It’s what happened next, however, that makes Jack’s account unique in UFO literature. Investigators’ have long noticed that UFOs often hover over electric power lines, as if they were drawing electricity into their craft. Jack is the first abductee to witness this exact procedure from the perspective of inside the ET craft. After the examination, Jack was floated off the table and into another room. The beings then placed him in a strange device which allowed him to view the procedure. Says Jack, "We went straight up above the fog. I could look out. The next thing, I was down in this thing. It was like a little clear diamond-thing on the bottom of [the craft.] I’m in this thing and there are like bungee cords on me. I sat in this clear diamond-shape -- actually suspended, it almost felt like bungee cords, but I could see everything around. I got a 360-degree view. I could look everywhere. We drop back down and we’re by my farm. We’re literally down in the pasture above this ditch. And there are some big high voltage power lines, heavy-duty power lines through there. You can just feel the electricity coming off. "Well as we dropped down to this thing, whatever the clear thing I was in, in the bottom, kind of got smaller. It was kind of like more of a confined space. It seemed wide open to me before, and yet I was enclosed, in kind of like plastic or glass." Jack was in awe. It felt like he was dangling below the craft with a perfect view of everything around. The room he was in seemed to design specifically for observation. In fact, the whole room would swivel towards whatever direction he looked. "In places it didn’t move at all, like if I just wanted to look one way, it just stayed there. But if I turned, it would move all over. But if I just stopped and looked one way, it would stop and look one way." At this point, the procedure began. "[They] were explaining to me what they were doing. I don’t know what it was, but we went up to the power lines. And after we got back down, that little thing I was in seemed to kind of shrink up inside. [There were] four rotating things on each side of this thing -- the diamond or triangle or whatever it was -- there were four lights that started spinning around. And I could see them from where I was….And I saw all those beams suck all together, come into one big beam and hit the power pole, sucking the electricity out of it. And these were like, I mean, LIGHTS! They all focused into one and they started sucking electricity out of the power poles. I can’t describe it but I could literally feel it going through my body. "I remember being cold. That’s when they sucked up the electricity. That is the most vivid part of the whole thing. We were up above it, a telephone pole, maybe two telephone pole lengths above it. And all those lights focusing into one super bright light -- just pshew! Just literally seeing the electricity coming out of there, and feeling it. It was just like it drained everything, just took it all. "Another thing, when I was up in that thing, we were above the fog, just kind of floating above this fog. And when they went to go suck the electricity out of the power lines, that fog just got out of the way. It just opened wide up, just shew! -- got out of the way, and I could see crystal clear. The case of Garry Wood and Colin Wright in Scotland




Scotland’s biggest UFO incident is being made into a film, depicting the story of two men who claim they were abducted from their car on the A70 road in West Lothian in 1992. Scotland has always been a hotspot for UFO and alien-based activity and now London-based DRB Entertainment is hoping to re-tell the story of Garry Wood and Colin Wright, who claim they were abducted while driving to the village of Tarbrax. Gradually, they began to remember snippets of the night, from recalling small creatures surrounding them on the road to being carried on a floating stretcher and operated upon. “I’m ever so pleased that is going to happen, for the Scottish public to realise they have their own recognisable phenomena in their own backyard.” says paranormal investigator Malcolm Robinson. “We may laugh and joke about this subject, but there is something very, very real and very mysterious ongoing in the skies.” The A70 incident was a pivotal moment for Malcolm who's new book UFO Case Files of Scotland gives investigative information on various sightings across Scotland. Previously a sceptic of UFOs and alien activity, Malcolm firmly became a believer after hearing from Garry and Colin about their experiences. “I was an ardent sceptic,” says Malcolm. “I really didn’t really think there was any validity to these tales of machines flying about the Scottish skies. “But it is like anything else in life, once you physically get involved in investigating these subjects, then you come off the fence. Famous UFO story of Edinburgh pair to be made into movie By Oliver Farrimond THE story about two Scots friends who claimed they were abducted by aliens is finally to be made into a movie. Garry Wood and Colin Wright, now 46 and 42, claimed to have had a close encounter in 1992 when they were beamed aboard a UFO while driving near a reservoir near Balerno on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The pair have always stuck by their claims and even passed a lie detector test on TV. Now DBR Entertainment, based in London and Los Angeles, is financing the production of the film which comes after almost two decades of controversy over the X-Files-style encounter. News of the film comes just as NASA plans to crash a satellite into the surface of the Moon to see if it is capable of sustaining life. Film producer Dionne Rose, who is financing the film through the company, said: “It’s such a fantastic story and I was attracted to it from the first time I heard it. “I had seen the film Fire in the Sky which has some similarities, but Colin and Garry’s experience did have unique elements to it.” In what became famous as the “A70 Abduction Case”, the pair were driving to Tarbrax village near Balerno when a “disc-shaped object” appeared in front of their car. In fear, driver Garry attempted to flee the object, but as they passed underneath, claim they were enveloped by a shimmering energy beam. Although initially unable to remember any of the period between these and arriving at Tarbrax some 90 minutes later, hypnotherapy sessions brought back some of the memories. Memory Loss Working past symptoms of memory loss and severe headaches, both men eventually remembered being surrounded by small creatures on the road. Other snippets recalled by the pair include being carried on a floating stretcher, and having alien experiments performed on them by a translucent, skeletal grey alien. Edinburgh-based car mechanic Garry went on to pass a televised lie-detector test about his claims, and the pair both visited paranormal investigator Malcolm Robinson, who is also working on the film. Mr Robinson, who lives in Hastings, said: “I’m really excited about this project. “We all know about the American encounters, so for DBR Entertainment to make a movie about Scotland’s biggest incident of this kind is great news. “I’d like to implore the people of Scotland to have a look at this film. Prodding “Colin and Garry were desperate for anything to explain what happened to them. “Garry, who’s from quite a tough part of Edinburgh, told me that he was strapped to a table with these things prodding him and he desperately wanted to take a swing at one of them. “It’s such a great premise for a film and we’re currently going through script negotiations with Colin and Garry to make sure they’re happy with everything. “I hope they don’t add too much salt and pepper to it and make it another Braveheart, based on fact but 80 per cent inaccurate. Mr Robinson, who has just published a book chronicling Scotland’s UFO case files, added: “People have asked me who I would like and I usually say Ewan McGregor, although I had a moustache in those days so he’d have to grow one. “Colin and Garry are such down-to-earth guys it’s hard to imagine any famous actors playing them.” Colin Wright and Garry Wood were unable to comment on film plans, as the pair have signed confidentiality agreements to remain silent until the release of the film.

Although technically not taking place in a vehicle, this video allegedly shows a Russian man being taken by a glowing, gold, anomalous light in the middle of an intersection. The footage is taken from a security camera. Note the vehicle in the upper left that stops and the people at the bottom right that appear to be "disoriented". Interesting to say the least. I didn't know if any abductions have been caught on tape. I'm looking for ones specific to vehicles of course and this is what has shown up in my search thus far.

There is not much else known about this vid.

IF....this is in fact real, this would be analogous or similar to the Frederick Valentich Case in Australia. There were witnesses to that as well. If only video cameras were a little more accessible back then.

Its not exactly a moving vehicle abduction but heres a realy strange story documented in a U.S. Intelligence Report concerning a multiple Police UFO encounter in the USSR from 1991.

Apparently,when the Police Officers were about 200 metres away from the hovering UFO,"a few rays swept across the car and it stopped dead."

The document also goes on to report how "upon returning to the Police station,the patrolmen noticed that none could recall their way back from the mountain - all memory of the passage had been completely obliterated."

Disturbing UFO incident which involves an unknown object seemingly 'harrasing' an aircraft with running commentary from the pilot - both plane (and pilot) were never seen again.


Location. Mona Channel, Caribbean Ocean near Puerto Rico

Date: June 28 1980

At 1810 Jose Antonio Maldonado Torres and his friend, Jose Pagan Santos, took off from Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in an Ercoupe aircraft marked N3808H.
The Ercoupe was owned by Santo’s father Jose Pagan Jimenez, an
Aero-Police officer in Puerto Rico.
They were bound for home in Puerto Rico. At 2003 the Las Mesas radar site and several aircraft picked up radio transmissions from N3808H:


“Mayday, Mayday, Ercoupe ocho cero, eight zero, zero, Hotel. We can see a strange object in our course, we are lost, Mayday, Mayday.”


An Iberia Airlines flight IB-976 en route from Santo Domingo to Spain responded to the Mayday and received a reply:


“Ah we are going from Santo Domingo to ah San Juan International but we found ah a weird object in our course that made us change course about three different times we got it right in front of us now at one o’clock, our heading is zero seven zero degrees…our altitude one thousand six hundred a zero seven zero degrees…our VORs got lost off frequency…”


Iberia Flight IB-976 then relayed a message from San Juan Center asking N3808H to turn on their transponder.
N3808H replied that the Ercoupe was not equipped with a transponder. At 2006 Iberia IB-976 asked for their call sing and estimated position and received this reply:


“Right now we are supposed to be a about thirty five miles from the coast of Puerto Rico but we have something weird in front of us that make us lose course all the time I changed our course a second (unintelligible) our present heading right now is three hundred we are right again in the same stuff sir.”


They were not heard from again.
At 2012 the Atlantic Fleet Weapons Range verified the last radar position of N3808H as thirty five miles west of Puerto Rico. A search that included Santos’s father was then mounted which centered on this last radar position. It was discontinued after two days when no trace had been found. No trace was ever found.

Here is a detailed account that happened to these nice women in Kentucky. Chilling!





The Kentucky Abduction Source: APRO Bulletin, Vol. 25 No. 4 (Oct 1976) Summary: Article/report of APRO's investigation of the Kentucky Abductions, which included hypnosis procedures. The February first issue of the Kentucky Advocate, published at Danville, Kentucky, carried an article pertaining to UFO sightings in that general area, among which was the story told by Ms. Louise Smith, Ms. Mona Stafford and Mrs. Elaine Thomas about their drive home to Liberty from a late dinner at the Redwoods restaurant located five miles north of Stanford. The ladies said that at a point about one mile south of Stanford, they saw a huge disc-shaped object which was metallic gray with a white glowing dome. A row of red lights rotated around the middle and underneath were three or four red and yellow lights that burned steadily. A bluish beam of light issued from the bottom. The newspaper did not carry a lot of detail but it was mentioned that when the women arrived home in Liberty, it was 1:25 a.m. Having left the restaurant at 11:15 p.m., they should have arrived home by midnight, indicating that there was a time loss of about one hour and 25 minutes. The Kentucky Advocate article was forwarded to APRO by Field Investigator Bill Terry but meanwhile he put in a telephone call and asked if we felt the case was good enough for him to make the necessary 60 mile trip to talk to the ladies. After he had read the pertinent information, Mrs. Lorenzen said she thought it would be well worth the trip. A few days later he called back and told Headquarters he thought it was a case of abduction, and that the usual hypnosis procedures should be utilized. A call was put in to Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle, APRO's consultant in psychology and he was asked to travel to Liberty to interview the women and possibly use hypnotic procedures to relieve their anxiety and obtain any repressed information. Headquarters learned that his first free weekend for the trip would be the weekend of the 6th and 7th of March. We will here relate the information obtained by our investigation and later explain why this report has not been published until now. It is important to note that although Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Thomas had known each other for many years, and Mrs. Stafford had known Mrs. Thomas for some time, Mrs. Smith had only gotten acquainted with Mona a few weeks previously. On the evening in question, Mrs. Smith left work at the usual time and went home. She is employed as an extension assistant for the Casey County Extension Office where her duties consist of visiting families in the county, counseling them in food perparation and preservation, nutrition and gardening. She fixed herself a sandwich and soup, which she ate, then got into her 1967 Chevrolet which she had just purchased that day and drove to a service station to get gas in preparation for the next day. While at the service station, Mona Stafford, who was driving by, spotted Louise's car, pulled her car into the station, whereupon Mrs. Smith asked her if she would come home with her and help her put the collar on a jacket she was making, as she was having trouble fitting it. The two ladies, each in her own car, drove to the Smith trailer home and set about the task. At about 8 p.m., Mrs. Thomas dropped by and the three lapsed into conversation about their favorite subject: art. Mrs. Stafford had planned to go to her sister's home to have her hair done and at about 9 p.m. said she'd better call her sister because it was getting late and besides, it was her (Mona's) birthday. When Mrs. Smith learned about the birthday, she suggested that they al! go over to the Redwoods for a late dinner and a sort of birthday celebration. Also, there was a painting on the wall of the restaurant which she had wanted to sketch. The restaurant, incidentally, is the only restaurant open at that time of night in that area.

The three drove the 29 miles to the restaurant, had their dinner and then pulled out sketch pads and went to work. A man at the restaurant asked Mrs. Smith to sketch him, which she did, and then she realized it was getting late, so the three paid their checks and left. Mrs. Smith drove, Mona sat in the middle of the front seat, with Mrs. Thomas on her right by the passenger window. After Mona spotted the object, which was descending from their right to the left, she asked Louise to speed up as she thought it was a plane about to crash and she wanted to help any survivors. Mrs. Smith saw it clearly, but Mrs. Thomas didn't see it until it had stopped at treetop level at what they estimated to be one hundred yards ahead of them. All of the women said the object was huge, Louise describing it as "as big as a football field," while Mrs. Stafford said it was at least as large as two houses. Mrs. Smith said that the object rocked gently for perhaps two seconds, at which time she estimated its size, for it extended beyond the edges of the road and over the fields on both sides. Then the thing moved across the road to their left, circling behind and above some houses, and then apparently came back to the highway and swung in behind the car. At a point in their journey about a quarter of a mile beyond the houses, the inside of the car was lit up with a bluish light which came from behind. Mrs. Smith said that at first she thought it was a state trooper approaching from behind, but realized almost immediately that it wasn't. At this point Louise and Mona were near panic. The car began to pull to the left and Louise screamed at Mona to help her control it. The speedometer was registering 85 miles per hour and both Mona and Mrs. Thomas shouted at Mrs. Smith to slow down. Louise held her foot in the air to show them and said,"I don't have my foot on the accelerator and I can't stop it!" Mona reached over and grabbed the wheel and they fought the force together. Then, quite suddenly, the women experienced a burning sensation in their eyes and Louise later described an additional pain which seemed to "go right through the top of my head! It was almost unbearable!" The next sensation was that of some force pulling the car backward. Also, they got the feeling that the car was going over a series of "speed bumps" (raised ridges in a road which are meant to keep the speed of automobiles to a minimum). Mrs. Thomas began urging Louise to stop so that she could get a good look at the object, but Mona and Louise were too terrified. Elaine had only had a glimpse of the object as it had circled to their left and around behind him and was later to comment about the object's beauty. "I can't describe it," she said, "I've never seen red that beautiful. 1 wanted to get out and look at it." Then, the women said, they saw a strange, wide, lighted road stretching as far as they could see ahead of them. At the same moment Mona noted a red light come on on the instrument panel which indicated that the engine had stalled, despite the sensation that they were moving very fast. At what seemed to be a split second later the women saw a street light ahead and realized that they were coming into HustonviHe, a full eight miles beyond where they had encountered the strange aircraft. They wondered among themselves how they had gotten there so fast, then became quiet while they proceeded on into Liberty. When they arrived at Mrs. Smith's trailer, they ail went inside. Mrs. Smith went into the bathroom, took off her glasses and splashed water on her face, whereupon her hands and face began to burn with searing pain. All three had a red mark on the backs of their necks, measuring about three inches long and one inch wide, with clearly defined edges, giving the appearance of a new burn before it blisters. Louise and Elaine's marks were centrally located between the bases of their skulls and the top of the back, whereas Mona's was located to the ieft, behind her ear. They could not account for the marks, which disappeared two days later. All three were experiencing burning and tearing of their eyes, but Mona Stafford had a much more severe case of conjunctiveitis (an inflammation of the conjunctiva membrane of the eyes). Prior to washing her hands, Louise had taken off her watch and was startled to see that the hands of her watch were moving at an accelerated rate of speed, the minute hand moving at the speed of a second hand, and the hour hand was moving also. Upon experiencing the pain of the water on her hands and face she forgot about the phenomena of the watch and does not recall when it returned to normal or when she reset it. Concluding that something was wrong, the three ladies went next door to the home of Mr. Lowell Lee, and told him what they had seen. He asked them to go into separate rooms and sketch the object and when finished, he found the resulting sketches to be almost identical.

Although all the women had trouble with their eyes, only Mona Stafford sought medical help, as her problem was so severe. The doctor who examined her found no explanation for the pain and tearing but gave her some eye drops which helped very little. Bill Terry found out that all three of the women enjoy good reputations. Mrs. Smith, 44, is a tall, thin woman of 44 years who was widowed when a young woman and brought up her son and daughter by herself. She has two grandchildren and busies herself in her spare time with painting and sketching and gospel singing. She performs around Casey county with the Jubilee Echoes, consisting of herself, a 14-year-old boy singer and a bassist who is a police lieutenant in Danville. She is a lifelong member of the Baptist church and attends services regularly at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Liberty. Inquiries to such people as police personnel, her minister and employer, elicited only good comments. Several weeks after her experience she had lost 28Vi of her normal weight of 125Vi pounds. Mona Stafford is 35, the former owner of an arts and crafts shop in Liberty and currently unumployed except for secretarial work which she does for her father, who owns a mobile trailer park. She was once married but has been divorced since 1970 and lives in a trailer home parked near her parents' home. She is a devout Christian, a member of the Hilltop Church of Christ near Liberty. She also lost weight amounting to 17 pounds but at this writing had regained 7. Elaine Thomas is a 48 year-old-housewife who has lived in Casey County, Kentucky all of her life. She and her husband Otis live several miles out of Liberty. They have a grown daughter and three grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas is also a lifelong churchgoer and is a member of the Contown Church of Christ. The foregoing information indicated to APRO's staff that the women were of good reputation, sincere, honest, and had no motivation to concoct a story so we proceeded with the investigation. It is at this juncture that we will explain the tardiness of the publication of this case. Bill Terry met Dr. Sprinkle upon his arrival and the two proceeded to Mrs. Smith's home. They were met with a conglommeration of investigators from CUFOS and MUFON, who felt that they were "first" on the case and that APRO should not be allowed to enter. (They had preceded Mr. Terry to the Liberty site by only one day). Sprinkle, being a gentleman and a scholar did not want to intrude, and it was finally decided to call APRO Headquarters for an opinion. Mr. Lorenzen talked to Len Stringfield of CUFOS and MUFON who wanted to use the services of Dr. Sprinkle but did not want the report to be sent to APRO. Mrs. Lorenzen pointed out that she had written a book (Encounters with UFO Occupants) specifically so that the proceeds would furnish APRO with the wherewithal to conduct such investigations, and that not only was APRO's money (air fare and expenses for Dr. Sprinkle) wasted, but Dr. Sprinkle's time away from his family was wasted as well. It was finally decided that Dr. Sprinkle would conduct the hypnotic sessions but that there would have to be a mutual agreement concerning the release of the story. Also, during meetings before Sprinkle's arrival, some representative of MUFON or CUFOS had told Mrs. Smith (she doesn't recall who) that the ladies should be careful about having anything to do with APRO because "they would call in the National Enquirer" and they would receive much unwanted publicity. Later, in a letter from Jerry Black, a MUFON investigator and, consequently, a CUFOS investigator, suggested that the ladies contact the National Enquirer about their experience, which was a surprise considering their reluctance to have anything to do with that paper if APRO was on the case. THE A.P.R.O. BULLETIN At any rate, it was for this reason, after the waste of several huhdred dollars, APRO was unable to complete the case. Then, after the National Enquirer contacted the ladies, Dr. Sprinkle, because of his participation in the "Blue Ribbon Panel" of National Enquirer experts, was called upon to go back to Liberty and regress the women. His report of the weekend of March 6 and 7 is quite sketchy except for his characterization of the three women as reliable, sincere, etc., because Saturday was largely wasted in quibbling about who should have "control of the case." Incidentally, the MUFON people wanted to make use of Sprinkle's expertise, "as long as he was there." But they admitted they neither had the consultants nor the funds to send in someone expert in hypnotic techniques to carry out the trance sessions. On the 23rd of July, under the National Enquirer's aegis, a polygraph test was conducted on the three ladies, and James C. Young reported, in each case, that it was his opinion, based upon the polygraph examinations, thai: the ladies believed they were telling the truth to the listed questions. In his report, Mr. Young made the following pertinent observation: "Prior to the examination of these three persons it was determined by the polygraphist that these persons had been previously interviewed by Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle and the above-mentioned members of the Mutual UFO Network. How much or how little these previous interviews played a part upon what these persons now believe about this alleged encounter cannot be determined by the polygraphist. I cannot discount the fact that previous interviews with these persons could influence their personal beliefs as to whether or not this alleged encounter did or did not occur." Mr. Young makes a very good point, that being that interviewers showing sketches of UFO types to a witness before they make their own renderings of what they saw, is highly suggestive, as is the display of any drawings of occupants. This apparently was done by MUFON representatives prior to the polygraph test or the trance hypnosis carried out by Dr. Sprinkle on the next day, the 24th of July. APRO has a complete transcript of the trance sessions which have been examined by the staff. While Robert Pratt of the Enquirer, and Dr. Sprinkle, who has had extensive experience in this phase of UFO research, were careful not to lead the subjects, some very suggestive or leading questions were asked by Mr. Stringfield and Mr. Black of MUFON. It is just such errors that the skeptics will leap upon in attempts to discredit the investigative procedures or reliability of witness testimony in such cases.

We would like very much to quote in polygraph tests and the hypnotic trance sessions, but space will not allow us to do so. Therefore, we summarize Dr. Sprinkle's findings from the hypnotic sessions. ". . .Mrs. Smith suffered much as she relived the experience. The behaviors, e.g., weeping, moaning, tossing her head, shuddering, and shaking, etc., were evident to those of us who observed her. especially as she seemed to "relive" an experience of a fluid material covering her face. Her smile, and evident relief in "seeing the street light" at the end of her hour and one-half loss-of-time experience was dramatic and indicated that she was "safe" in the car, once again, and returning home with her friends." Sprinkle then goes on to recount Louise's claim that her pet parakeet, who, according to her claims and the claims of others who observed the bird, refused to have anything to do with her after the UFO experience. Others could approach the bird and it would not react wildly; however, whenever Louise came close to the bird, the bird would flutter and move away from her. The bird died within weeks after the UFO experience. Mona Stafford. . ."responded well to the hypnotic suggestions and she was able to describe impressions which led her to believe that she had been taken out of the car, and that she was alone on a white table or bed. she saw a large "eye" which seemed to be observing her. She felt as if a bright white light was shining on her and that there was "power" or energy which transfixed her and held her to the table or bed. She experienced a variety of physiological reactions, including the impressions that her right arm was pinned or fastened; her left leg forced back under her, with pain to the ankle and foot; pressure on the fingers of the left hand, as if they were forced or squeezed in some way; a feeling of being examined by four or five short humanoids who sat around in "surgical masks" and "surgical garments" while observing her. At one point, she sensed that she was either experiencing out-of-the body travel, or else she was waiting outside of a large room in which she could view another person, probably a woman, lying on a white bed or observation table. She perceived a long tunnel, or a view of the sky, as if she had been transported to an area inside a large mountain or volcano. Although, she wept and moaned and experienced a great deal of fatigue as a result of the "reliving" of the experience, she felt better the next day; she expressed the belief to me that she now had a better understanding of what happened during the loss-of-time experience. . . . "Mrs. Thomas had been rather quiet during the initial interview in March, 1976, although it was obvious that she is perceptive and aware of other people's attitudes and feelings. Like the others, she has lost weight, but she has also experienced some personality changes. She dresses a bit more colorfully now, and she is more willing to talk and to share her ideas with others. She, too, experienced a similar reaction during the hypnotic techniques: she apparently was responding well to suggestions to go deeper; when she "relived" the UFO experience, she experienced a great deal of emotional reaction. Her main impression was that she was taken away from her two friends, and that she was placed in a "chamber" with a window on the side. She seemed to recall figures which moved back and forth in front of the window of the chamber as if she were being observed. Her impression was that the observers were four-foot-tall humanoids, with dark eyes, and grey skin. One disturbing aspect of the experience was the memory that she had some kind of contraption or "covering" that was placed around her neck; whenever she tried to speak, or think, the contraption or "covering" was tightened, and she experienced a choking sensation during these moments. At first, Mrs. Thomas interpreted the memories as indication that she was being choked by hands or that she was being prevented from calling out to her friends; later, however, she came to the tentative conclusion that an experiment was being conducted, and the experiment was to learn more about her intellectual and emotional processes. She recalled a "bullet-shaped" object, about an inch and one haif in diameter, being placed on her left chest; she previously had experienced pain and a red spot at that location. ". . .During the polygraph examination, and during the initial hypnotic sessions, each UFO witness was interviewed separately from the other witnesses. After the initial description of impressions, the women were invited to attend the additional hypnosis sessions, so thai each woman could observe the reaction of the other two women. During these sessions, there was much emotional reaction, which seemed to arise from two conditions: the compassion of the witnesses for their friend, who was "reliving" the experience and releasing emotional reactions to the experience; also, it seems as if the description by one witness would "trigger" a memory on the part of another witness, even if the experiences seemed to be "similar" or "different."

"Certain similarities were observed: a feeling of anxiety on the part of each witness regarding a specific aspect of the experience. For Ms. Smith, it was the "wall" and the "gate" beyond which she was afraid to "move psychologically"; for Ms. Stafford it was the "eye" which she observed and the impression that something evil or bad would be learned if she allowed the eye to "control" her; for Ms. Thomas, it was the "blackness" which seemed to be the feared condition or cause for anxiety. Each woman seemed to experience the impression that she had been taken out of the car and placed elsewhere without her friends and without verbal communication. For Ms. Smith, the lack of verbal communication was most distressing; although she had the feeling of "mental communication" that she would be returned after the "experiment." "Differences were noted in that each woman seemed to have a somewhat different kind of "examination," and in a different "location." Ms. Smith did not have a clear impression of the location, although she did recall a feeling of lying down and being examined; Ms. Stafford had the impression of being in a "volcano or mountainside," with a room in which a bright Sight was shining on a white table with white clothed persons or humanoids sitting around and observing her; Mrs. Thomas recalled impressions of being in the dark chamber with grey light permitting a view of the humanoids who were apparently observing her." In his conclusive paragraphs Dr. Sprinkle reports: "In my opinion, each woman is describing a "real" experience, and they are using their intelligence and perceptivity as accurately as possible in order to describe the impressions which they obtained during the hypnotic regressions session. Although there is uncertainty about their impressions, especially in regard to how each person could be transported out of the car and relocated in the car, the im pressions during the "loss of time" experience are similar to those of other UFO witnesses who apparently have experienced an abduction and examination during their UFO sighting. "Although it is not possible to claim absolutely that a physical examination and abduction has taken place, I believe that the tentative hypothesis of abduction and examination is the best hypothesis to explain the apparent loss-of-time experience, the apparent physical and emotional reactions of the witnesses to the UFO sighting: the anxiety and the reactions of the witnesses to their experiences which have occurred after their UFO sighting. An interesting subsequent event is the concern of the women that they were "re-experiencing" the physical symptoms which had been experienced for several days following the January 1976 sightings. . . .When I called them on July 26th, the women said that they were re-experiencing some of the same kinds of symptoms, e.g., fatigue, listlessness, sensitivity to skin, burning feeling on the face and eyes, fluid discharge, etc. "I tried to reassure the ladies that it is not an uncommon experience in hypnotic regression that persons — after "reliving" earlier emotional experiences — may re-experience some of the symptoms which accompany those emotional reactions. "In my opinion, the UFO experiences of these women are a good example of the type of apparent abduction and examination which seems to be occurring to more UFO witnesses. I believe that the investigation could be continued with the hopes of obtaining further information about their experiences. However, the present evidence suggests to me that the women have cooperated sincerely and openly in describing their reactions to their UFO sighting and loss-of-time experience, and the polygraph examination and hypnotic regression sessions have been useful in uncovering their impressions of the UFO sighting and subsequent events. "I believe the case is a good example of UFO experiences, because of the number and character of the witnesses. . . and because of the results of further investigation through polygraph examinations and hypnotic regression sessions." Dr. Sprinkle alludes to "subsequent events." Conversations with Mrs. Smith since the regressive hypnotic sessions took place yielded two very interesting bits of information: Mrs. Stafford had been having trouble sleeping, would not stay home, and would go to her parents' home or that of a friend, and curl up on the floor to sleep. She also has said repeatedly that she would not live "to see another birthday." Hopefully this is only a fear and not a portent of things to come. Also, in the fall of 1976, Mrs. Smith was overcome by an inexplicable urge to go back to the scene of the original sighting. On August 1 she did return to ihfi.site-, got out of her tar, and "heard" the words: "feel of your hands."When she did so, she realized that three rings, which she habitually wore, a small gold ring, a pearl ring, and a gold ring with onyx and a small diamond, were gone. On the 26th of September, Mrs. Smith walked out onto the stoop of her trailer home and found the onyx and diamond ring lying there. For some inexplicable reason, she scooped up the ring, walked to the creek which runs by her home, and threw it into the water. This, then, is the entire story of the Kentucky abduction. At last contact with Mrs. Lorenzen by telephone, Mrs. Smith intimated that she was beginning to have recall of the whole experience, and asked that Mrs. Lorenzen not divulge the details as she was writing a book about the experience. We appreciate Mrs. Smith's desires, and will not comment on further information learned from her until such time as the book is published. However, we laud these ladies for their bravery; theirs is a very interesting and hair-raising experience and we feel sympathy for them in that their greatest ordeal may well still lie ahead: the attacks of the skeptics.
