unseen student dorm video from g20

GO TO 2:15, that is when he starts talking, "You go outside...you get arrested, it's like martial law, but its not." "Yes it is," a student responds. You may want to turn up the volume. It also sounds like they are threatening students "kick you out of school" You can hear him say "Kick you out of school" Eventually they take a young man. Last words on the video... "Did they read you your rights..."

Wow. That is totally unnecessary. I knew there was stuff going on in Oakland, but I didn't think they were throwing tear gas at the Pitt dorms. Poor students were stuck in the middle of that just because they happen to live there.

Where did you find this video? Are there more?

And yes, I definitely caught the 'It's like martial law, but its not.'

What does that mean?! Just sort of. Uh..

Exactly what I had mentioned on a different post about the Pittsburgh fiasco. They don't need to declare Martial Law for ALL of your rights to end.

When the G20 comes to town they follow their rules, not the USA. They can do this because the property, even though it's American soil, is transferred to the G20 for that duration. Wherever a trooper in black riot gear goes, or a Humvee under the direction of the G20, that is actually considered G20 property.

American citizens don't have any rights on G20 "soil," and can be incarcerated and whisk away at any time to any place for any duration if they deem that "soil" you're standing on (or living in) as being needed by the G20.

The revolving and expanding perimeter and everything within is the G20's.

So you can see just how important 911 indeed was and for those of you who still think it wasn't a false flag really need to awaken, and fast. There's only a few more steps needed for total control.

You got that right... I almost wonder if they brought in this much military presence just to step on people and make them accept it? And to say it was to keep the citizens 'safe'.

What did the kid in the video do to get arrested? I must have missed it or they didn't show it.

Yep. There have been first hand written accounts of this on other forums. It's good to have the video. We should link all of the Pitt dorm footage to this thread so people can see the full scene.

Of course, just wait for it... someone will show up demanding yet more context.

They busted up ALL of the protestors. What they did NOT want were large groups of people...together.This is why they dispersed every single group that they came across.

People are better in numbers and we need LARGE,organized groups with a like minded goal in order to succeed.

These people were simply assembling in small numbers and each had their own agendas.

While I agree with, and believe that we all have the right to free speech,to protest,or even to simply 'hang out', there are better ways and places to do it.

I'm NOT siding with the police in this at all.All I mean is that with the G20 in town,-they are NOT going to let people have the run of the city with all of those elite there.

The city of Pittsburgh, and it's leadership-should have made it known that certain areas would be off limits, and which areas would be good for protestors to have their say--and be heard by the media-in a safe environment.

Pittsburgh dropped the ball on this IMO.I'm originally from that area and I know first hand that they normally take precautions, and forewarn the citizens of such things ahead of time with strict scheduling and advanced planning.........even when the circus comes to town !

i just wondr when someone will understand that the response to this type of thing should be equal to the threat?
i just kept thinking ,what if the students just blocked the door and arrested the perps(police).they were commiting a crime, weren't they?

what are the g20 leaders doing that they fear for their lives?
the ptb must have had an idea that people are upset, right?

NEXT TIME,LET THEM MEET ON AN ISLAND WITH NO PROTESTERS.

They did warn people that they were basically shutting down the city for this. The only problem with that is that there are a lot of people who need to move about the city to go about their usual day. You can't just GO AROUND some of that stuff.

It is not their fault they were caught in the middle. If you ask me, Pittsburgh is too small for this sort of thing in the first place. I'm sure they could have chosen somewhere else that they didn't need to put completely on lock down. Which is probably why they chose here in the first place..

I also want to know why the Police were wearing camo? Does anyone know why this is?

And the sound weapons on the trucks were announcing an 'unlawful assembly declared by the chief of police'.

Who decided it was unlawful anyway? And why?

I like the idea of doing citizens' arrests on the police in this case. And in every other case where they trample the rights of the individual. That'd make them think more than once before they decide to act on their sadomasochistic tendencies.

How the beep do you imagine that students could make a citizen's arrest on the police? Do the students have tasers, batons, plastic wrist ties and a SWAT team to back them up? No, they would get brutalised on the spot and then hauled away to serve a prison sentence for assaulting a police officer. Let's try to live in the real world.

The only real recourse is through the courts. I wonder if there will be any legal action as a result of this latest assault on civil liberties.

So instead we go to court and wonder if there'll be any legal action taken on this latest assault on civil liberties?

There were three cops in there, and about twenty or thirty students. You might think students are weak, but they're not THAT weak. Furthermore the cops had no tazers, only batons. Besides, the rest of the cops had their hands full dealing with the demonstrants outside. It would've been easy to down the bastards and cuff 'em with their own handcuffs.

And then what? You have three cops imprisoned in your dorm room. Now what do you do? As soon as they get into contact with the outside world and say, 'hey, we are holding 3 cops here in cuffs,' the SWAT team will arrive all guns blazing. I can't imagine any way that scenario would play out without the students coming off worst.

Yeah, it's a real shame when corrupt police support other corrupt police. If there was a sheriff's office I'd say to call them to take care of the dregs. But it might be a problem in a city like Pittsburg.

Ah, well.

I fully understand what is going on in the videos. However, these videos have all been edited and/or they don't show the whole story. I am just trying to shed a little light on a different perspective.

At the beginning of the video you clearly see a bunch of naive college students (probably a lot of freshmen) running for the lobby. You can also see a guy enter the lobby dressed in black with his face covered in a black bandanna. The same attire worn by many of the alleged anarchist protesters. The cops probably entered the dorm looking for that guy. The fella being escorted out at the end of the video was dressed all in black. Who knows what he was doing on the streets prior to his detainment. These guys were trying to disappear in the crowd of students. No indication of a formal arrest.

No gas was deployed inside the dorm it was deployed on the streets of an urban campus filled with out of town protesters. The students should have just stayed put inside of their building rather than adding fuel to the fire and confusion on the streets. Simple logic. They should have stayed off the flippin street.

The students weren't the target. If the cops wanted to target them it would have been much worse. The cop came in to tell them to stay put. Just a simple warning not to be stupid. I call it camera courage.

At 1:54 in the video you see the guy who was detained sitting on the floor, wearing his black fedora and wearing his gray shoulder bag. His back is turned to the cops and his head is down. At some point he gets up and changes locations because he is escorted out from a different position.

Target detained.

You need to view all of the dorm scene videos.

Tear gas was deployed at the entrance of one of the dorms. There is video from the street level and from the dorm overlook.

The overwhelming number of people in the video are students walking about and gawking at the insane, pointless show of force by the police.

I have commented on the video that was shown in the OP. The video starts off showing a subdued street scene and then cuts to a bunch of screaming kids running for the doors. No one was attacked in the dorm. Students were warned to stay off the street. Let's find the dorm RAs and get their opinions. I'm sure that they warned their residents to stay clear of the trouble.

What happened on the street to illicit the tear gas and apprehension of a clearly targeted suspect who was attempting to hide in the crowd? Look at the footage. Every student is facing the door and the cops but kid in the black fedora. Perhaps he knew that they were after him.

Show me the footage.

All of the universities within the immediate impact zone issued warnings and advisories to the students long before the G20 even started. Pitt created web pages and portals.

Student Safety Tips

Because the G-20 may attract many visitors unfamiliar with Oakland, some of whom may choose not to obey our laws and regulations, you should use caution during your travels throughout the week. While our Pitt Police Department and many other agencies will enforce the laws, and strive to ensure your safety, you can help as well. Here are some tips:
• Carry your Pitt ID at all times.
• Keep your belongings secure, and always lock your room, car, and bicycle.
• Travel with friends, and never walk alone at night.
• Treat others, including police officers, with respect.
• Avoid angry or obviously violent individuals.
• If you find yourself in a "mob," find a safe spot and remain calm; text friends to let them know where you are.
• If you are in a dangerous situation, contact police when on campus at 412-624- 2121 (add this number to your speed dial). Off campus, dial 911.
• Follow the direction of police officers and University officials.
• Enroll in the ENS system to be advised of dangerous situations on campus.
• Stay up to date on road and travel restrictions through the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety Web site.
• Read Pitt's G-20 Summit Student Reminder (PDF).

Just to throw out a hypothetical here: How different would this
scene have been if all Americans (including college students)
excercised their first amendment rights and openly carried
firearms? Would the police just run up and grab anyone they
pleased or beaten them?

I also wanted to add that Pittsburgh really had no say in the
matter of where the G20 was to meet. I think they chose the
city because of it's great history of strikes and worker solidarity.
If they can clamp down a city like Pittsburgh they can do the
same anywhere in the US.

I'm not sure that the people in the video were actually Police,
they may have been National Guard, thus the BDU's.

Back to my original point, we as Americans have allowed the
police to become so intimidating by virtue of the fact that we
have failed to excercise our 2nd amendment rights en masse.
The entire character of these events would be wholly different
from that which we have been seeing. Why only be so strident
about excercising just ONE of our rights? What's wrong with
strongly advocating ALL of them?
