Something tells me that somewhere in DC and New York that some serious paper shredding is going on.The Feds lawyers will simply claim that all the relevant records have gone "missing" and that will be that or they will appeal this for years in hopes of the public's attention being focused elsewhere...

Ah but you are looking at the big picture, which is good. I was speaking in terms for the Regular Joe that does not care to understand such things to swallow. The political machine panders to the lowest common denominator which in this case, is to malign the other side to make their side look better. A shifting of blame.

I am not saying that Bernake is not a scoundrel, quite the contrary. But in order to make the mess that exposure will cause, Bernake will be blamed so the angry, grumbling masses has a focus as opposed to Obama's $10 Trillion in planned spending having any contributing cause.

Definitely as step in the right direction but I wonder if it will ever go any further. The Federal Reserve has a lot of power, that being the infamous "shadow government", behind it. We will see.

Why don't they want to see which banks got the funds?

Some banks it will be shown received significantly more, thus, less solvent.

Some banks received funds who didn't need them, like Goldman Sachs

Some banks were not banks, like AIG

Some banks received direct payout through corporations like AIG .. something the legal system calls "Money Laundering"

Some banks were not even American banks.. it's already suspected that French, Canadian, English and Chinese banks, among others, received Federal Funds from our Central bank...

The Federal Reserve has admitted to "currency swaps" with other foreign banks

The CDS Payouts through AIG were often sent overseas to foreign banks

In short to audit the Fed is to basically show in detail to the American people that they were pleasantly put in a situation where they were told America NEEDED their money, they were then clubbed over the head when they didn't comply, and robbed blind. Just to find out we sent a good chunk of that money to other countries to keep them happy with us. I would use such a report as evidence of High Treason and Sedition.

Well... there is also the matter of that 135 billion dollars in bearer bonds/notes seized in a briefcase at the train station in Northern Italy from two Japanese Nationals. That one stunk the high heaven from the start. They were released, not arrested, Japan drug its feet verifying their identity, and it looks like they may have been connected with the government in some way, and the Fed / Treasury took a few weeks to get its story straight. Ultimately declaring them to be fake.

Funny how all this went down when Geitner was in Southern Italy.

I imagine that a lot of stuff would percolate to the surface.

Interesting. Now indeed Bernanke has a reason to collapse the economy.

This is all planned, folks.

I still contend that no actual investigation will ever take place on the FED. The groups that run the FED control everything. They aren't going to let something a small as the constitution stand in their way. They didn't get to the power level they're at by worring about the laws of the land.

To be sure, with all the illicit money floating around, they have tangled the majority of Congress up in a web of acomplicies, and therefore have nothing to woryy about as far as any significant results coming from an investigation.

Remember folks, Congress has virtually turned over control of the government to a quasi official cadre of thieves, who have their own agenda in mind, and have no one to fear. They have been given catre blanche to do anything they want in the name of saving the economic future of our country, a problem which they created.

Not to be a wet blanket on the future of our country, but nothing will change till the country collapses, and a new system is started from the ashes of the old system. funny thing though, the only thing the new system needs to do, is brush off the dust off the constitution that we had, and use a perfectly good form of government that was hijacked by thieving jackals determined to ruin America for the profit of a few select families. As a nation, we have fell asleep to the warning bells of economic principles that make vodoo economics look like the work of a genius. Somewhere in the dust of years gone by, common sense left for a long vacation, and it was replaced by socialist thieves who told us their way was best, and if we didn't believe them, we were somehow non patriotic.

We are just entering the punishment phase of our fallout from common sense. Good sound financial choices that our grandparents would be proud of ,have been replaced by economic practices that Stalin, Lenin, and Kruchev would be proud of. Our leaders have embraced socialism as the new "American way". Our president, and all his kool-aid drinking croonies in congress, and the FED, are now in control. The changes America was promised during the race for the Presidency are happening now. I'm not sure that's Americans wanted, but that's what their getting. You can believe these were the changes Obama had in mind, even if you didn't

So complain all you want, protest all you want, call your representatives all you want, there's a new Socialist Czar in town, I mean President, and we are doomed by the choices of the masses, and we will get what we deserve, even if we collapse as a nation to a third world status, the process has begun. Sit back and watch the show, because it will be a historic presentation that will not be re -run again, a one time performance, with many Oscar worthy performances in many categories. Perhaps the most stellar category should be an award of pure gall by the FED chaiman telling America they know what's best for us, just relax, we got everything under control. And a special award for the President for telling the same story 50 different ways in the shortest ammount of time, and keeping a straight face while doing it. The president also gets a special award for best selective memory in the category of professional office. he apparenty forgot about the existence of video cameras that show him saying one thing one day, and saying the exact opposite the next. Anyway, act one is about to begin, and the curtain is rising. Enjoy America.
One last, last thing. For the record, I didn't like Bush II either. And for all you people that voted for change you can believe in---I hope you like what's happening, because you truly deserve what you get. Enjoy the show--you paid for it.

It will be very interesting to see how all this pans out.

Remember in June when Congress subpoenaed the Federal Reserve to hand over e-mails, notes and other documents related to its role in Bank of America Corp.'s acquisition of Merrill Lynch & Co? I have been able to find lots of documentation on the subpoena itself, but not much on any results obtained from said subpoena. Does anyone know if the Fed complied and what the outcome of that was? I'm assuming they just told Congress to go pound sand but it doesn't seem like it was ever reported on. Big surprise there.

What blows my mind is that this current action is the result of a FOIA request by Bloomberg reporters:

The case arose when two Bloomberg News reporters submitted requests under the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) about actions the Fed took to shore up the financial system in 2007 and early 2008, including an expansion of lending programs and the sale of Bear Stearns Cos to JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N). After the Fed resisted the request, Bloomberg sued to compel disclosure.

Reuters

It seems as if this is setting a major precedent here. If all it takes if FOIA requests to get this information from the Federal Reserve, then how much other information could we obtain?

Could we essentially audit the Fed thru FOIA requests?

The audit the Fed bill passed the house, if they can just get it by
the lobbyist lackeys in the Senate now.

This is not true, HR1207 -Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 ie. "Audit the Fed Bill" has not passed in the House. In fact it is being held hostage in the House Financial Services Committee by none other than Barney Frank.
www.govtrack.us...

When Senator DeMint tried to attach similar legislation (S604) to an appropriations bill in July he was blocked by Senate Leaders.

HR1207 and S604 could be the real downfall of the Federal Reserve if they are ever allowed to be voted on by Congress. If it passes, it will be a great victory for the American People, but even if it does not pass we will be able to root out those Congress-persons who voted "no". We can find out once and for all which members of Congress are aligning themselves with big banking interests and vote them out in 2010.

If this is something that truly concerns you and you want to do something about it then find out if your Representative has co-signed HR1207 and sign the petition.
Audit the Fed Petition

If your Representative has not co-signed, then bombard his or her office with emails, faxes, letters and phone calls asking why not.

I agree. Did you ever stop to think....what went up in those Twin Towers.

Unfortunately, I will say no more but, believe me, there was a reason more than meets the eye for that incident.

The FED has filed for a stay with Judge Preska, pending the appeal in the Circuit Court of Appeals.

Yet the article states the FED won't say WHEN they plan to file the appeal.

Filing appeal is a dangerous road for the FED to take, if the CCoA upholds the ruling, then it sets precedent in any further hearing.

As sad and wimpy as it is, I agree with mrpotatoehead. They do control all the media and informations. The info that would be released would be mucked up and not get reported and just fade away along with other of Obama's agenda items that got swept under the rug.

You speak my heart!

America has forgotten what the word S A C R I F I C E means. I would like to know, how many sacrifices have been made as A C T I O N towards getting rid of the Banks. Nobody said it would be easy. Everybody is afraid to rock the boat. Everyone needs someone to TELL them what to do. It's pretty simple. There are a few of us out here in the land who have used Hammurabi's Code to fight. Readers, go figure out what that means.

"When you fight a snake, you grab it by the neck."
