Great thread
As a diver I so wish they would already release some sort of liquid breathing or oxygen filtration system . That would help out by a mile when it comes to deep diving . The decompression sickness is not pretty when it hits you , and sadly it is rather easy to get while deep diving. Sometimes an error of a meter or two while making safety stops on the way back up and you are done

We don't "breathe" liquid in the womb, the lungs are in fact redundant, the oxygen is passed directly into the blood cells from the host.

Please stop taking segments from a film and evaluating it as fact.
