There is a difference between taking a film picture, or using a digital camera, than taking a picture and texting it.

Once the person in question sends it out, they loose control of where it goes. They can't prevent it from going on the internet, to other people, (possible predators) or, most likely, ending up in the hands of the "Authorities" and getting them into trouble--in this case arrested, more likely banned from extracurricular activities.

It's become relatively common, too, for employers and colleges to search the web to see if applicants have naughty videos out there, and turn them down.

Yes I know, that was my general point from my post, that there are dangers compared to the boob flash where no camera phones were used. It makes the difference from a 5 second flash to forever posted on the internet. That's the danger I guess.

But we can agree it's wrong to arrest them, but it's right to be aware for their safety, because kids do stupid things all the time, it's part of the fun haha.

when i lived in Laramie, WY camera phones were just coming out. The local high school banned them from campus because kids were taking pictures of their peers in the locker rooms and sending them to the other kids.

This isn't new. It isn't going to end. kids should be told not to do it, and given some common sense perspective. But the cops and teachers involved need to be asked, "What the hell are you thinking?" and given some training on how to be effective at their jobs.

My dad would probably give me a high five and laugh it off. At the most this kids need a brief class on sex ed and a long class on how not to do something to get caught in school.

Text at home...or be more secretive about it.

Why are they calling it porn for? I always amazed at the big deal people make out of nudity. Sure, it's probably not a good idea for kids to share nude photos of themselves with the risk of some pervert getting hold of it, but to charge the kids is insane. If you told someone growing up in a tribe in Africa this story, they'd think we were all insane.

Jeez...here in England, at my secondary school this kind of this was everyday business.

People would film a female friend with their complete knowledge when they flased some....stuff. Or they woul take pictures themselves, then it would get texted around a small group of people depending on who the orignal sender was, and the person knew this.

If you wern't one of the people getting the text, or VERY good friends of someone getting the text you would never even hear about it, never mind see the thing.

I believe somebody did get caught once when a nosy teacher went through the persons texts, both him, and the original person in the photo got a small talking to. But do tight was the group, one other person in the class saw it happen, and before the end of that lesson, anyone if the school who had the picture had deleted it.


The teacher went way over the top hear, the police wern't needed at all. Not only have their lives been ruined from a job perspective, but also socially...the teasing from school members could be immense.

hmmm i think the police are overacting but probably for a reason. i would go out on a limb and suggest they might be trying to make examples of the kids and scare the other kids off from doing it.

unfortunately i dont think its going to work if anything its going to give the practice even more publicity which might inspire other kids to do it. god knows kids love to copy their peers.

so either they didnt think about that fact or... they did.

It happens all the time.
I know a girl who it happened to, she sent the pictures online, and even now as an adult she is unable to communicate online, email, or over phone with minors. At all.
And she is constantly monitored and things. I don't remember how long she has to be on probation like that, I think it's like a few more years or something, a total of 10?

Pffffffffffffffffffft.

If I have a pic cellphone when i was 16-17, i'd be doing the same thing.

Yeah they definetly went too far with that.

These girls these days dont understand how these pictures can spread so fast. It isnt so "cool" when your 20 years old and you have nude pictures of yourself when you were 15 all over the internet for pedophiles to oggle over.

Okay this is way out of proportion a bunch of hormone crazed teens had pics of their girlfriends I mean really if my son had a pic of his girlfriend I'd delete it talk to him about it a little and give him a high-five and forget about it.
