20/01/09 - Today is the Judicial Review that decides the fate of Gary McKinnon

For those who have not followed this story

Gary Mckinnon, who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome (a mild form of autism) - and who was seeking the truth re UFO's - in the late 1990's began hacking into NASA's computer systems - which by his testimony had very poor security systems
(Gary claims many other hackers from different countries were also visible to him whilst he was online.)
He claims that he found evidence that :-
NASA covertly edited UFO's out of photographs prior to their release to the public
They had knowledge of alien technology and could make "free energy"
They had Non-Terrestrial Offices - (An off planet base?)

Upon his arrest in 2002 - he admitted to hacking and was told that he faced a fine and 6 months community service (in the UK)

In 2005 he was re-arrested and told that the American Government wanted him to be extradited - to face 60 years in a high security American jail.

Legal fights to prevent extradition have been unsuccessful and todays Judicial Review is his last chance.

Gary has had a lot of high profile support - including that of many individuals who were part of the "disclosure project" Ex NASA employees who have testified that they have seen evidence of covert cover-up's.

something smells fishy to me, is nasa compartmentalized?
that would be one way of not having people know about this stuff, why havent more hackers come forward in his defence and say all the stuff he is saying is true!

Gary McKinnon has been questioned about that in interviews, (many of which are on youtube) he reckons that other on-line hackers were foreign Government agents - that is why they have not been brought to justice. He was an easy target to make an example of.

And how many Moon and Mars threads of pics of alleged structures and airbrushing are there?

Don't like it don't post on it. I'm sure if this thread somehow violates some forum rules the Moderators will deal with it.

Yeah good idea, let's have every country sending their people to other countries with their stupid laws, what is next?...next time it will be a 12 years kid be sent to a another sick country and having his head cut off for him hacking in one of their porn sites?...the goverment reminds me of a bunch of maternity school kids, they holds to their stupid little secrets like kids would for a candy jar.,,,it's a sick world where it's a race about people who get all excited about using their power and show the world hey here i'm the most powerful person , kiddo's attitude!!. When you have the smallest amount of IQ you just don't plug computers with files and documents you don't want to be seen on to a network, simple as that.

Gary McKinnon is an absolute joke! This guy didn't see a darn thing at NASA, and all his claims are literally recited from what the Disclosure Project states. I challange anyone who doubts me to watch the 2001 National Press Club regarding the Disclosure Project and any interview with Gary McKinnon. He brings absolutely nothing new to the table. He did hack into an unmonitored computer using a peer-to-peer software similar to VPN Client. However, he didn't obtain nor gain any new knowledge from this PC. He is a liar if he states anything different.

Too bad he wasn't a true hacker who could obtain valuable information.

Watch this video and within the first minute, doesn't this sound familiar to the Disclosure Project?

Using a program such as VPN, do you think he damaged every single computer he was able to access to the point they needed new ones?

I love how debunkers seem to have a climax when stating their opinion as fact.

And on a topic you find so stupid, why do debunkers still put forth so much effort into the subject year after year?

That's not what the DOJ indictment says.

It alleges that McKinnon rooted many boxes and then installed the remote administration tools (RemotelyAnywhere specifically).

The indictment also lists the IP addresses of the boxes McKinnon allegedly hacked.

Here is the problem I have with all of this.

Why during all this time hacking into the NASA computer systems, finding evidence of UFO's and airbrushed images, didnt McKinnon download this stuff? Why not collect this evidence right from the source?

Second, there isnt anything other than testimony that proves what he claims to have found.

I do think that NASA purposely alters photographs and image data before releasing it to the public, and sometimes, will slip something out the back door, in peculiar ways too I might add...(BAMF)...but in those cases, we have something to work with, some data to analyze.

With McKinnon, we have nothing, nothing but a claim.

I do not doubt he found something, but the real deal here with this issue is that he hacked into government computer systems. Just because he found certian evidence, does not negate the fact that he comitted a crime.

Even if he did have solid evidence, in the form of that data copied over to his systems or another system, that still does not condone the act. It might help in a lesser sentance when the judgement is handed down, but not by much IMO.

If it was me, I would have started downloading in droves and saving that evidence to several drives and on CD's and DVD's and any other means possible.

Cheers!!!!

Yes, that's beyond me too. I have raised that question here before.

Furthermore, he says he didn't have a time to download an image of a "man-made UFO" he saw on the NASA computers, but according to his case file he was using RemotelyAnywhere to control these machines remotely.

But anyone who knows how RemotelyAnywhere or any other remote administration tools work (such as Windows RDP) know that this doesn't make any sense. These tools broadcast what the remotely administrated machine is displaying, in essence, it is sending the images of what the desktop looks like so you know what you're doing in the remote machine.

He says since he was using dial-up he didn't have time to download an image, yet he apparently for years and years didn't have a problem using RemotelyAnywhere to control these machines with his dial-up connection. Something's not right here!

Either he didn't saw anything and he's making it up thinking that coming out with such bombastic information would help his case (get the federal Government out of his back), or he saw something and saved it but said he couldn't save any information because he thought it would get him in even more trouble.

As of now, I'm leaning towards the first option. But none of these dismiss the possibility that the systems he broke into weren't part of a honeynet.

Contrary to this thread's opening premise, McKinnon has only today been granted permission to seek a Judicial Review.

See BBC News: Hacker wins court review decision dated 23 January 2009.

The basis of McKinnon's wish to be tried in the UK rests on the possibility that deportation could cause his mental state to deteriorate to the point of suicide.

Personally, I think this case should go to trial asap. It could provide evidence of NASA's involvement in UFO coverups that they or any other involved party would find difficult to explain. A full blown trial would be the closest thing to 'disclosure' that anyone is ever likely to see IMO.

Why oh why would an uber 1337 hacker spend all his time writing a program to hack the blank passworded computers.. spend 2 years searching for data and then when he comes across said data, forget to press the "print screen button" at least..

Maybe someone might ask at the trial?

If he's any sense, he'll subpoena all those people offering evidence to the Disclosure Project as defense witnesses. Done right, this trial could be better for the cause for disclosure than your average white House Lawn landing video.

Anything classified would be.
In addition, items such as "free energy" would hardly be under the NASA umbrella, although it's entirely possible that some current/former NASA employees filed for patents on ideas about satellite tech, etc. to carry out such a task, and it's possible he could have stumbled upon such things.

Still doesn't mean it exists though...

We have our own ex-NASA members you know....and they too want the truth, but at least they claim to not know of any kind of coverup...

surely the fact that Mckinnon comitted the alleged crime, whilst exposing a greater crime perpetrated by NASA, should exonerate him. The accusers should also be made to stand up in court and be asked questions from Mckinnons lawyers, I should imagine they would be very uncomfortable by that proposition.
