Cameraman Mustafa Khabeesa was shot by Israeli soldiers with a rubber bullet, while correspondent Sari Al-Khalili was knocked unconscious by teargas on Friday.

The two were taken to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
They were reporting live from the scene of a confrontation in the West Bank village of Nilin, where Israeli soldiers were firing tear gas, live ammunition and rubber bullets at stone-hurling Palestinian youths.

Let's see Israel try to explain this one away.

For those wondering, the protests are about the huge wall Israel is building to block off the Palestinians from the Israeli's.

The Israeli West-Bank barrier is a barrier being constructed by Israel consisting of a network of fences with vehicle-barrier trenches surrounded by an on average 60 meters wide exclusion area (90%) and up to 8 meters high concrete walls (10%)

It is located mainly within the West Bank, partly along the 1949 Armistice line, or "Green Line" between Israel and Jordan which now demarcates the West Bank. As of April 2006
Important Topic Updates
, the length of the barrier as approved by the Israeli government is 703 kilometers (436 miles) long. Approximately 58.04% has been constructed, 8.96% is under construction, and construction has not yet begun on 33% of the barrier.

Opponents argue that the barrier is an illegal attempt to annex Palestinian land under the guise of security, violates international law, has the intent or effect to pre-empt final status negotiations, and severely restricts Palestinians who live nearby, particularly their ability to travel freely within the West Bank and to access work in Israel.

More details here

This barrier is what some in America have suggested need's to be built to stop illegal's getting into the US.

Israel doesn't even care if reporters are caught in the crosshairs, at least the one's in control of the Military.Until we stop handing Israel Billions of dollars with No Strings, they are going to keep acting like the Nazis they suffered under. The Jews are fragmented themselves but the Money they have with their alliances with Britian and the U.S. have created a Spoiled Child that needs his privlidges taken away. The UN is afraid to act aginst the U.S. but future circumstances may change that....well, hopefully.

They say history repeats itself and it certtainly is, Israel buiding its own self inflicted ghetto. You would have thought they would have lernt something from their pst but obviously not.

They have a choice, they either learn to live together with their neighbours or they become extinct.

Shot with a rubber bullet? Sounds like the TV crew got in amongst the protesters. Serves them right.

The thing about getting involved in a riot or a animated protest, is that it's basically dangerous territory. A number of things can happen.

As far as the wall, the sooner they get it completed, hopefully, the last the Israeli's will see of the Gazans.

Let's see them shoot through that. They'll be reduced to firing rockets over the wall.

Look, if Israel really wanted to kill Gazans, and really wanted them out, and really wanted that territory, it would be a done deal.

Israel wants nothing to do with Gaza. Neither do their brother Arabs, especially Egypt which also has a border with Gaza, and have themselves closed down.

Gee, wonder why no one likes Gazans?

So much for the 'only democracy' in the Middle East. Israel and it supporters are enemies of the freedom of speech and the press.

There are many reporters harmed or murdered by the zionist war machine.

Usually the reporters killed in Iraq are non-embedded freelancers taken out by US forces. You forget the Hilton Hotel shelling by an Abrams tank?

What about the ITN reporter killed by the US army?

Iraq reporter unlawfully killed ITN journalist Terry Lloyd Terry Lloyd was not "embedded" with the military An ITN journalist was unlawfully killed by American soldiers in southern Iraq, an inquest has found. The troops shot 50-year-old Terry Lloyd in the head while he was in a makeshift ambulance, having already been hurt in crossfire, the coroner said. Mr Lloyd's interpreter was also killed and his cameraman is missing believed dead following the incident, which took place near Basra in March 2003. The coroner is to ask the attorney general to consider pressing charges. Oxfordshire Assistant Deputy Coroner Andrew Walker said he would also be writing to the director of public prosecutions asking for him to investigate the possibility of bringing charges.

Yep, all Israeli supporters are anti-peace, anti free press, anti free speech, anti Palestinian, anti life, and anti human.

But not me. Nope

I'm anti-stupidity.

As long as the aljazeera press shows up to feed riots, as long as Gazans attack indiscriminately against Israeli civilians, then I say it should be open season on idiots.

The Israeli's are much more humane that I would be. I wouldn't be using rubber bullets, and just to drive the point home, the cameraman would be the first in my crosshairs.

At least 22 people, including five Palestinian children, have died in Gaza's worst day of fighting since Israeli incursions in early March. A Hamas ambush in northern Gaza killed three Israeli troops, Israel's highest daily loss in the area for 3 years. That sparked Israeli air strikes near Bureij refugee camp, which Israel said targeted gunmen, but which left five children among 11 people killed. A cameraman also died when his car was apparently fired on by an Israeli tank. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he was gravely concerned by the escalation of fighting and urged both sides to show restraint. Thin hopes At least 100 people were killed during operations launched by Israel in early March after Palestinian rocket attacks on its territory.

news.bbc.co.uk...

While most adults killed by Israelis mainly involve shellings, home demolitions, air-strikes in residential areas - tragically and most horrifying, Palestinian children killed by themselves are shot in the head or neck.

There appears to be a specific campaign by the Israeli to kill children by sniper fire. In the context of the Gaza ghetto wall, the imposed Israeli starvation regime, titular assassinations, the destruction of infrastructure like power plants and hospitals, it seems that murdering children is a component in a wider psychological war against the Palestinian.

On top of this up to 1 in 4 Palestinians have been through the Israeli military prison system ostensibly through check point detainment, border crossings and house raids. Usually Palestinians are detained while paperwork is checked or processed through Israeli military bureaucracy. While in military detainment, all prisoners are abused physically or verbally, a high proportion are beaten and tortured and one in ten is raped, both male and female regardless of age.

There is a genocide being conducted against the Palestinians. It is hidden by the media and governments in the West are turning a blind eye.
