Strange dreams about disappearances

Been having a strange dream about disappearances. Some claim millions of people disappear every year all over the world.

Anyway, the dream involves abductions to get living brains to use in various devices from pilots for space craft to intelligent weapons. And before anyone brings it up it wasn't like a Dalek although I have wondered why we don't grow organics to bridge the gap in AI until technology catches up.

Now I don't usually remember dreams but this one has reoccurred several times. Anyone have any ideas besides a great theme for a short story.
