The X-Files vs. Reality

In the post named "my thought" below, I noticed the X-Files Movie was noted as a scenario where humans cannot win.

If indeed extraterrestrials exist, I believe the shroud surrounding their existence takes a very X-Files-esque shape.

First of all, I do not like calling creatures from another world aliens. Perhaps because the word 'alien' means completely different. I would like to think that extraterrestrials wish to make friendly contact, and are intelligent, like humans....LIKE humans.....one similarity, so extraterrestrials are not entirely alien to us.

I would like to believe that we have been exposed to extraterrestrial activity to promote the idea that we have not been alone for quite some time. I believe extraterrestrials would have been watching us for a while, maybe since before our creation.

What I'm proposing may sound farfetched, but if extraterrestrials exist, I believe this would be the likeliest scenario to warrant their activity and behaviour ever since UFO hysteria began....most likely with the Roswell incident in 1947.
