well theres no doubt theres been more smearing by the gop followers. you should have seen it before the mods cracked down on it.

ats also showed a dramatic increase in traffic from certain networks related to republican smear groups. ATS like many other forums has been targeted but it doesnt take much to egg the rank and file on.

thing is it just hasnt worked one bit. The fear card has been vastly overplayed by the gop the last 8 years you can tell people are turning a deaf ear to it.

Obama will win by a landslide theres nothing they can do.

I read an analogy by a sports writer the other day. He was saying if you are covering a team and they lose 10 in a row you can't really say everything is great. You say the team sucks and here is why. I think the Palin "bashing" is people seeing a grossly underqualified VP candidate and then wondering why so many others can't see that she is a grossly underqualified VP candidate. No candidate is perfect- it's impossible.

Rational discussion and reasoned opinonating are bot fine, just be honest about which is which.

Obviously you don't live in the USA,because if you turn on TV set 9 out of 10 TV stations are bashing Mc Cain,in LA they had Sarah Palin dummy hung in effigy, had it been an Obama doll, the NAACP,Louis Farrakan,Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton would have held a vigil there, how is the Obama bashing, seems there is double standard here, this is incredible

Yeah, these political threads can be entertaining, to be sure.

What I find disheartening is the repeated repetition (brought to you by the department of redundancy department) of stuff that has been totally debunked over and over.

"Obama is a Muslim"! Hogwash.
"Obama is a Socialist"! Bull.
"Obama is not a US Citizen"! Garbage.

and so on.

My personal opinion is that the big factor in general, not just here on ATS, is that Obama is a black man.

Yeah, I think race has a lot to do with the reaction to Obama. Deal with it. If he was a white guy, born in Hawaii, named Barry Johnson, I do not believe the hysteria would be at the same magnitude.

Obama is not terribly far removed from Bill Clinton in his policies, and while there are plenty of people who dislike Clinton for various reasons, there is nowhere near the kind of shrill, frantic blather we find regarding Obama.

The fact that Obama, a black man, is the leading candidate for US president speaks volumes about the evolution of society in the US.

The fact that so much obvious mis-information, to put it kindly, is still being circulated shows we still have some ways to go.
