Government computers used to find information on Joe the Plumber

As far as Joe, the not so truthful or licensed plumber....

In many states the licensing requirement is a system of protectionism put into law by the democrats to protect union trade jobs.

licensing was put in for electricians in Calif 4 years ago and the rules to be able to take the state electrician license are very different for union and non union electricians

Union electricians only have to get a statement from there union that they have the required hours of training (6000 hours)

Non union electrician must get notarized statements from previous employers
totaling 6000 hours.

The problem for many non union electricians is many have worked for 20 or more companies during there training and many of the companies are out of business or were from out of state and impossible to find to get the notarized statements from.

This law was payback by the democrats for the union support in getting them elected.

Oh by the way if you were a electrician in the military even one for 20 years that time does not count.

you pay for these rules by having to pay higher cost (union rate almost double) to have electricial work done in you homes
