Well looks like it has hit America, again -- does any one remember the Arkansas break out a while back ? Link here... I highly doubt that anything will come from such a little outbreak, but then again, you never know. Any body want to bet that the Farmer will get a strain of H5N1 and then take the Magic potion to heal all, Novavax's pill.

We all know its only a matter of time before this becomes the next pandemic

It's just when they are ready to reduce the worlds population

Just abit of info on the word of pandemic

A pandemic (from Greek παν pan all + δήμος demos people) is an epidemic of infectious disease that spreads through human populations across a large region, for example a continent, or even worldwide.

Definition
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a pandemic can start when three conditions have been met:

the emergence of a disease new to the population.
the agent infects humans, causing serious illness.
the agent spreads easily and sustainably among humans.
A disease or condition is not a pandemic merely because it is widespread or kills many people; it must also be infectious. For example cancer is responsible for many deaths but is not considered a pandemic because the disease is not infectious or contagious (although certain causes of some types of cancer might be).

Your right there duffster, its when, not if. Well Avian flu is already a pandemic amongst birds, but, wild birds has stronger immune systems than our domesticated birds so they can actually hold the virus in their intestines and feel no adverse effects from it, but since it is in their intestines, that means that the virus does have a way to escape -- if it escapes in the way you can think, since it was in the intestines, it becomes in the poo. If a` domesticated bird comes into contact with active H5N1 from a wild bird, well its dead. Domestic-to-Domestic bird transmission is unbelievably easy, that's why 99.9% of all cases in domestic birds involves culling all the birds. If it spread to humans our immune system would be useless, we take so much chemicals that our systems are shot, we depend to much on antibiotics, and just to clear that word up Anti-biotic -- it means anti-life, against life. The fact is, at this current time, if we were to come subjected to a human-to-human transmission of H5N1, we are all dead, unless Novavax works

The article plainly states that this strain is not H5N1 and that it is a common mild strain of avian flu. One bird has been infected.

This and the outbreak in Arkansas are of interest to farmers and ranchers, but is not a heath risk to humans, especially on a large scale.

According to a statement from the Agriculture Department, the type of virus found in the Idaho game bird is commonly found in wild birds and normally causes only minor illness in the animals. The statement said the virus poses little or no risk to human health and it's not believed that any people have gotten sick in connection with the ill bird.

Why are you trying to make something out of virtually nothing of note.
