Acer Aspire 5610Z

Intel dual-core T2060, 1.6ghz,

Intel Graphics Accel 950

80G HDD

2 Gig DDR2 Ram

Vista Service Pack 1 with all current updates.

Just started happening here at the Hampton Inn. On Wi-Fi...

Freezes periodically on various sites including Google when I left it for an hour or so. Just froze here on ATS.

I just loaded the last update from windows, should I try uninstalling it first?

make sure your vents are free, heat will kill a laptop easy. especially newer ones because of the processor speeds. before you go uninstalling windows, run your virus scanner and anti spyware programs.

My acer laptop went through a period of going to a coloured blank screen and freezing. My solution was to just put it to sleep and than wake it up and than it would be sweet.Thats about as technical as i get.

I had this problem a while ago, the first thing I done was a defrag then I deleted all the updates which get installed automatically.

Laptop works like a charm now, its even a bit faster.

cetainly run all cleaning programs.

defrag

when you updated, did you download any driver updates???

heat can also be an issue, like said, make sure vents are clear and keep anything at least 6 inches from the vent.

Also, try a full shut down, wait 10 seconds and then boot the computer.

Let me know how it goes.

MM!!!!!

Long time no see....

I was hoping you would jump in here..

I'm not at the Motel any longer, home now, so I am going to turn it on, connect it and see what happens here at home...

I'm not sure what the last update was, I remember it was a big one, something like 6.8M...

I'll keep you posted..
