TITUSVILLE - Something other than birds could be flying from the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge if a NASA proposal gets off the ground. With the shuttle program nearing its end, the agency is considering plans for the first private launch complex on Kennedy Space Center property, possibly inside the popular sanctuary that attracts more than 2,000 visitors daily.

How many tons of pollutants are put into the air via the rocket boosters?

I can't believe they want to put a new private lauch pad in a wild life refuge.

Makes me sick.
