Sure well for the majority of people not sitting upon a fortune like you must be, there will come a time when its just too costly to pay for the hard to find oil and then what...

So in the past 150 years weve used about 1 trillion barrels of oil.
There is over 1 trillion PROVEN conventional oil reserves left. No one knows for sure, but estimates are the actual number is around 3 trillion. Then comes "heavy" oil, Alberta, Canada has an estimated 1.8 trillion, Venezuela has 1.2 trillion. Not to mention the 2.6 trillion in shales in US. Include all the "unconventional" reserves and that adds 6.5 trillion. Even all the oil fields that have drilled the past 150 years still have about 50% of their oil left. Oil fields are abandoned once about 50% of the oil is gone because it becomes too costly at that point, they are NEVER sucked dry. Furthermore about 25% of the world has NOT been explored for oil. So you can add another 25% to the 7-9 trillion. If after all that, you still believe we will run our of oil in our lifetime or your grandkids lifetime for that matter, you need help that I cannot offer.

What you fail to realize was in the 'past' it was the U.S. as the biggest consumer, now there are at least 2 other U.S. size nations or bigger that are as hungry for oil, with the same dwindling supply? China & India are no longer on the side lines..they are here..NOW & experience economic good times. They want the same standards of living as us, they want more cars, more resources than EVER before.
Its getting harder to get at the oil resources as they dry up which also contributes to the price.

Your stock money wont do you much good when the oil runs out, maybe you can buy a vat of linseed oil and run your fat a$$ hummer on that.

There are really clear minded people among you. You diagnose the problem very well, and also suffer from it. The main problem is that the current system is so well organised, that it doesnt allow us, people to organise. Thereofre we only have to complain about such isues on forums and feel quasi comfortable about it. Why just not organise concretely and do something?

Norway, and in general the scandinavian is out of this world. It is another galaxy. The "world" is happening-suffering-living-dying between the winners and loosers, between the manipulators and the puppets, between the actors and the followers. Scandinavian is out of this play. Is it bad? I dont know. I dont interest.

Right!! The current system is set up for debt. Hell, even the government is in debt. The problem with organizing is we all have to work, raise children, pay the bills, and so on. Who can miss work to go down to washington and do something about it. You can do it, but when you get back someone else will have your position and you're out of a job. I'd like to see everyone take a week vacation at the same time but that won't happen either. Someone's got to do a job and companies are not gonna let everyone off at the same time. One problem is that these senators and governors are in office to long. There needs to be a set amount of years that one person can serve in an office. Just like a president. And if they don't do what they promised then it's up to us to call them out and keep them out. That's one of the biggest problems. We always vote them back in office.

Looking at the situation in Russia, and Iran, something is poised to happen soon.

I think Putin and Ahmadenijad alliance will count for something: a nose thumbed at the west.

Organize? We cant even have basic control of our bodies.

Case in point: You cant commit suicide legally. The government owns you.

Judging by this comment and previous comments, not only am I convinced that you know nearly nothing about peak oil and the oil markets in general, but you fail to grasp basic economic theory.

"there will come a time when its just too costly to pay for the hard to find oil and then what" WTF??? Ignoring the "hard" typo....

Oil works on demand and supply...if it gets too expensive to find new oil, supply will shrink and prices will rises up to a point where it will not longer be to expensive to find oil.

There will NEVER be a time where its too expensive to find ANY natural resource, as long as we are on a capitalist system. If your willing to pay up, they will find it.
We, as a collective, decide how much we want to pay for something. If we all stop buying oil, the price will go down.
If tomorrow we went 100% to renewable sources for energy, the barrel used for storing oil would become worth more than the oil itself.

World War 1, World World 2, Vietnam and now the Afghanistan/Iraq is all meant to control us. Now we have the Patriot Act, Homeland security, the military tribunal act that is slowly but surely deprives us of our civil liberties. Try fighting back now. Oh don't worry, the government has got our backs. Yeah right!
Now the government can search your home without a warrant, detain you, torcher you and arrest you without question all under the assumption that you may be a terrorist. Germany did this long before we did it. ("Gestapo" ). And thanks to the media of today it's working. It's to late to fight back unless we bear arms and fight to the death. Look what they've done to our schools. " No child left behind " Sounds nice right! Well no matter how bad a kid is doing in school, they still get promoted to the next grade. Talk about stupifying our children. Yes it's getting near. Our freedoms will be lost if we the people let it be so.

The truth is that we are not prepared for better technology, we must firt reduce the population and the leaders od the planet soon dont need us slaves for the work, becouse almost all will do the robots, they wait until we decimate in population and more, when we starve to death or they make a war, to reduce the population or the virus, then maybe they will give out the technology.

The truth is they dont need us, we need them, thats why they can do with us whatever they want.
