Hmm, very unusual.

Well first we must remember that Al-Qaeda are Sunni extremists. Iran being a Shiite-dominated country, if they were indeed intending to go there, they were probably planning to do something malicious.

However, I doubt that Iran, despite being Shiite as they are, would be on their high priority list, as Iran is typically against much of the same things Al-Qaeda is, albeit in a relatively less extremist way.

Of course like already suggested they might not actually be Al-Qaeda members, but what could the motivation be if they are not?

Very strange indeed.

Kacen, I understand your pointing out the facts, (AQ Sunni, Iran Shiite) and the below isnt related to specifically this topic, Im just having a little rant -

Im not sure why religion even plays into some of these world events.

Two dudes sitting at home, watching Oprah, got a bit bored, decided to hijack a plane.

Where does religion fit into this subject.

If they were North Korean and from a Chondogyo sect would they be seen as terrorists? I dont think so!

Wow what if they were christian/muslim/buddist/jewish does it matter/should it matter. I dont care, Do you??

edit - extend
edit - clarify before anyone posts
