Hornchurch light-welterweight Colin Lynes retained his IBO title at the Brentwood International Centre in Essex with a controversial points win over American Jauquin Gallardo.
Though Lynes made a positive start in edging the first two rounds it was Gallardo from California that can consider himself unfortunate in being on the wrong side of a close points decision. One judge scored the contest a draw at 114-114 while the other two saw 27 year-old Lynes the winner by 117-113 and 116-113.
