Think of all of the things that are sold in the US that are made in China, Taiwan, and Japan. Prices at Wal-Marts, Targets, and other stores like them would skyrocket!

Since 1991, China has been secretly building up its military, and now is considered to be a "credible threat". [Edited by Don W]
It will have nuclear missiles that can reach the United States by next year, and will have the ability to launch nuclear missiles from submarines by 2008 giving it the ability to strike any nation in the world. The interesting part is, most of it based on US technology.
The result of China's 15-year effort has been "the largest military buildup the world has witnessed since the end of the Cold War," says Richard Fisher, a China specialist for the International Assessment and Strategy Center (IASC), a Virginia-based think tank.
despite languishing 25 years behind the States in a number of areas . . Chinese nuclear missiles could have the capability to hit any target in the United States from launch sites on mainland China.

“ . . may be able to find a way to import all the energy they need but I don't think it's possible.

Hi Don, I've enjoyed reading your posts in the past when I was lurking. you'll have to forgive me until I can properly respond to point by point quotes - Since China didn't disarm anyone in '91, everyone still has their arms. (please elaborate on that point. I am very curious what you mean) [Edited by Don W]
