An imperial blaster that the stormtroopers carry or a phaser carried by lets say picard?

Must admit all the STAR TREK weapons look like something you would by in TOYS 'R' US and the weapons in STAR WARs look pretty damn cool.

Phasers they use in "ENTERPRISE" look cool though and as GASROK said they disintegrate.

Laser are lightspeed so SW is not realistic.

Okay, I didn't want to do this, and show my true geekiness here, but what the hell....

Star Wars lasers aren't really lasers...they are ejected and spun gas (Turbana gas being one kind, that's what Lando was mining in the Cloud City) that are then ignited by the laser. (that's why the different SW lasers are different colors, different gasses, and/or laser crystals)

God I miss that show, "Beat the Geeks"...
