Yes yes I know it's posted on Rense be that as it may, I still find this story disinheriting to read. Has America come to this, searching active solders while escorting the body of a fallen brother.
As we know Rense is known to post some wild stories, is this one of them?

US Marines Humiliated By Airport TSA Goons
From Craig Roberts
[email protected]

(snip)

While escorting the body of SGT Mills, Lea R. from Dover AFB to the final resting place in Gulfport, MS, SGT Stock, CPL Bigalk, CPL Schadeburg were stopped by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the Philadelphia International Airport and taken into small rooms set aside for searches. They were forced to remove their blue dress uniform blouses, belts, and shoes. The security personnel scanned all the items and also patted down the Marines. TSA also took SGT Stock's shoes out to the X-ray machine and then didn't return them; he was instead required to find them himself.

All the Marines said they felt humiliated by this treatment. The Marines had orders
in hand that tasked them to serve as Official Casualty Escorts. SGT Stock was carrying SGT Mills personnel effects, and CPL Schsdeburg was carrying the flag from SGT Mills' casket. These items were in hand and in plain view.....more

Maybe it's change, but as of about one year ago (I think) military persons on domestic flights could not be strip searched if they were flying under orders....and from the story that sounds like a strip search, imo.

TSA has a job to do, but I don't agree with searching Marines in uniform escorting a caskett. On the other hand, if they didn't search the Marines then some PC nut would cry discremination cause everyone else is getting searched.

When I was working for the TSA, Active duty traveling under orders (Not going/coming back from leave or something like that) did not have to under go random searches. But if they set off the metal detector they would have to go to the hand held metal detector like everyone else.

I can guarantee you that military issue shoes have a steel shank in them, SOP when the shoes alarm at the hand held is to send them to the x-ray machine. Not getting the shoes back to them was a stupid mistake.

Normally when a belt buckle alarms, you have them slide out the belt a bit then rescan the area while they hold the buckle away from area, then the buckle gets a visual check. (About half the time the person getting checked didn't listen and removed the belt all together.)

The shirt... Wild guess, With the amount of metal that is worn with the dress uniform, removing it might be the simplest way to do it. (Not to mention, all the insignia, awards, etc.. on a dress uniform is precisely placed and takes quite a bit of time to set up.. so they are not going to take them off.).

Why should military personnel be exempt from the traetment meted out by these goons? If the rest of us have to suffer it then so should they. Maybe give them a sense of what they are fighting to protect back home

Most times I fly I end up having to take off my shoes, belt, jacket then get dressed again the other side. It's inconsistent though, depending on where you are flying from.

Maybe they'd prefer us all to don disposable paper one piece boiler suits for flying, changing into them before we get to the departure lounge, with our other clothes packed away in our luggage. Hell, at leat it would speed up the lines to enter the departure side of the airports

The Rense story is not that far fetched. TSA monkeys have nothing better to do all day than suspecting terrorism fighters of being potential terrorists.

That's when they are not busy laying their own body on the conveyor belt to pass through the x-ray machine, because that is amusing to monkeys.

As bad as this is, I don't think it's as bad as what was happening about 2 years ago, when the TSA required some women to remove their blouses while in line and then be manhandled on their privates. This actually happened at some airports, it happened to a friend of mine, too.

Well, what if someone got hold of a uniform and pretended to be a solider. What would people say if they were really terrorists.
