How drug companies own your health

Alternative medicines are not something you see on the 6 o'clock news, but when Mercks stocks go down or up, you do.

Many already know how drug companies control most of the medical treatment in the US and other developed countries. Many think it is just us conspiracy nuts active imagination.

More and more people are finding cures in alternative medicine for cancers and many other ailments. However, it is becoming harder and harder to to find those that really work.

The reason why - Money!

Imagine Dr. G, a middle income small town doctor, discovers through years of research and independent testing, that a plant food source can cure, say... lung cancer and prostate cancer. He knows it will work 9 out of 10 times.

He cannot, by law, give this to his patients. He could loose his license to practice medicine.

He cannot market this and put it in a jar and claim that it cure these cancers. The FDA will put the sledge hammer to the push pin.

He cannot get FDA approval because it would cost, most likely, millions of dollars.

He doesn't want to invest millions of dollars to get it FDA approved, because 1) there is no guarantee that after he spends more than he has that the FDA will approve it. and 2) because when it does become FDA approved, anyone can copy him - a natural product cannot be patented.

Drug companies get FDA approval on drugs that they make and can patent - A guaranteed profit. They often copy, or try to copy natural medicines. And if they can't, they throw it away.

There are many people today experiencing the control. Many are spending thousands of dollars for conventional medicine and finding too often that it doesn't work (NOT all). Few are finding working alternatives for tens or hundreds of dollars with fewer side effects.

The big drug companies do NOT have your health their interests. It is profit - why not? It IS after all, a business. The often find something in nature that works and try to synthesize it. If they succeed, it gets tested, patented then FDA approved. Sold!

However, the simple people, like you and me, cannot make a bag apricot kernels and claim that it helps fight cancer. We don’t care for profits, which in turn means we’ve don’t have millions.

No one would invest in us to get it approved by the FDA because there is no way to profit from it or no way to get their million back after it became approved.

Hence our dilemma, stuck in the control of the profitable.

Doctors often get into the field to help other people. They learn only what their taught and often have no idea of medicines outside of what was presented to them in class or practice.

A small percentage of real doctors that do find out other cures, but cannot offer them when they are not FDA approved, are seeing better than us just how corrupt this healthcare system is.

It takes a REAL good person to be in politics AND do the right thing. Berkely Bedell, a former Iowa Congressman, is one of those. See his story here. There are many others trying to something and failing.

We need more who want to DO something. Write a letter to your congressman or something.

Excellent information - I only wish more here would take the time to read and respond.

That said - I would challenge the title you've given this thread. Perhaps changing it to Don't Let The Drug Companies Own Your Health would get more interested?
