I am trying to gather a comparison chart of Different militaries recon cababilites. At what level they have the first dedicated Recon units. How are these equipied..

ie. Recon forces at Comppany, Battalion, regiment/brigade, Division, command levels?

For example Finnish army has:
Recon team in every InfCo
Recon platoon in Battalions (mech-recon in Jäger Battalions)
Recon Co in Brigades

Then there are Border Troops and Certain special detachments working for higher commands.

British Army.

Recce platoons operate at platoon, company, Brigade levels.

Airborne has a specific path finder unit (Paras) and they are SUPER hard bastards. There are also LRRP ( Long Range Recce Patrol) units scattered through the Army and Royal Marines. Theres even 23 SAS (TA) unit that specialises in this form of warfare! A sodding TA special forces (Now thats double hard bastards! Full time job AND a SAS Trooper....!!)
The big thing with the British Army is that they are so hard and well trained that alot of so called 'normal' units have advance recce platoons of well trained troops.

My guess its all that scouting out new citys before a huge night out... the uk can be pretty rough at night in the city centers...You need good int! rofl.
