Would you listen ?

(my first attempt at writing something)

Did I love you
as much as I thought ?
Or was I that blind
and simply forgot?

Forgot myself
and who I am
What if I told you
Would you understand?

Would you understand
if I said
That its not you,
but the pretending i can't stand...

Look how miserable we are
Lost in the perfect scenario
of our minds

That we forgot our hearts
and how they feel
for what I don’t know
but I know it makes me ill

Would you let me finish ?
Would you listen to the end ?
Would you even care
If I told you

That though I can no longer
give you my heart
You will always
have my hand

Don’t you see?
Won’t you think and admit?
That it is as much over for you
As it is for me?

Why all this pretending?
What’s the point of you & me?
When we both know
this is not where we want to be.

So please listen,
Look at me,
For all we were and had.
Lets not fool ourselves...

Just keep in mind
and try to understand,
that though I can no longer
give you my heart

You will always,
ALWAYS
Have my hand.

I like see poetry written from the heart and soul like that.
