Im looking for recommendations. I want to build a gaming system. Any recommendations out there for motherboard, processor, and video card? I have had a few people tell me to go Intel, and a few tell me to go AMD.

If anyone would like to give me their opinions, I would appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time.

Get a AMD Socket 939/940 NForce 4 with SLI

It's 64 Bit, can handle 2 cards in tandem and AMD builds more efficient hardware then Intel for gaming that is.

And it can also handle multi-core and single-core CPUs.

As for video Cards get a couple of SLI Capable Geforce 6 or 7 series. You will NOT regret it. My buddy can run F.E.A.R. at 1600x1200 Res at FULL graphics(thats full AntiAliasing and Antistropic filtering and some crazy soft shadows and fuzzy explosions(if you're too close to them that is)) and the kicker is he gets a rock solid 30 FPS(he capped it to reduce heat in his case) The eyes only see at 35 FPS

I had a very similar recommendation. Honestly, I dont know much when it comes to whats best. As far as video cards. You said to get a couple. Should I put more than one in? I am dumb when it comes to this, so fill me in.

As far as a specific video card, or pair would go. What would you recommend?

I'll just talk out of my own experience. I just purchased an A8N32-SLI Deluxe.
Check it out
This board rocks!
I only have it rigged with one 6800 GT, but its still a dream especially with the 2 gigs of RAM.

Can't wait to put in 2 7800's .

And the AMD is the way to go if you want to build a gaming PC.

Hope this helped.
