There's been much talk about the use of Ohio State Funds as an emergency slush fund by key Republicans to steal the pivotal swing state (and thus 2004 election), but most people hear the words Coin Gate (like that could really happen) and probably think it's a joke. Well, it is and it isn't.

The real joke is they're calling this business as usual.

"The attorney general puts that sequence of events together and concludes there was a crime. I put that sequence of events together and conclude that is what everyone expected — business transacted," Mr. Wilkinson said.

Yes, "business transacted." That's why it's called the Culture of Corruption don't you know?

Make no mistake, Tom Noe, the rare coin dealer and major Republican contributor that suddenly found himself appointed trustee of the State coffers and decided "rare coins" sounded like a good investment laundered money to the Republican Party and is going to jail.

It's everyone else that belongs there though. Bush gave back his direct $4,000 as soon as the investigation started to try and distance himself... from himself, but not the suspected $100's of thousands Noe gave to cronies to turn around and give back to Bush at the fundraising events he sponsored... with state funds.

Sigh. Why can't we just tar and feather them all yet? Now? Please?
