1984 or Gattaca, take your pick.... its coming...

Any UK members hear anything about this? If you are picked for the trial, what do you expect to do??

Privacy campaigners are urging people not to participate in a Home Office biometric passport trial due to take place this year.
Home Office officials have confirmed that the UK Passport Service intends to run a trial of biometric testing, in an as yet unnamed town with a population of around 10,000.

Old news friend.

Austarlias got in down pat, from next year you wont enter it unless you've got smart passport.

And as for UK, USA, Canada, just wait for the next "accident".

What have they got on it, retina, fingers, DNA, facial patterns. They can track anywhere you go with CCTV facial tracking.

If you're known activist, anti nwo anti globalisation member - smile you on the camera.

"It is a compact place with narrow streets, old stone buildings and a small but bustling shopping precinct.

It is not the sort of place one would associate with the cutting-edge technology of retinal scans and cards containing biometric data. "

Going to be intentionally vague here.. The frightening truth is that in Washington D.C. in the last few months there was a protest against the war in Iraq. The protestors were assembled peacefully and were not threatening verbal or physical violence. However, that didn't stop several Big-Brother types from taking pictures of the crowd. These were high-end cameras and the individuals were not members of the press corps, because the press corps was confined to a roped-off area.

I wonder whats going to happen to those photos!

Probably patched in to the facial identification system. I suspect that there is currently a collection of info regarding "known dissidents".

Biometrics will just help the world go 'round..... we have always been at war with Eastasia.....
