Like someone said before, if this guy only molested one kid then he deserves to be put down. I do wonder what the real intent of this story is though. Are stories like this meant to infuriate us so much that we will blindly demand that new laws be made, in effect sacrificing more of our own rights and giving big brother even more ways to keep tabs on us? Are they forcing us to cut our own throats so to speak? I think we the public should tread lightly here and be careful what we ask for.................we just might get it.

Well, to me it seems a bit improbable if you're talking about your gareden variety molester but the thing we have discussed on this board before are underground child sex slave rings and should someone of this nature become tied in with one or several of those, he could possibly have several children at his disposal for perhaps weeks on end. Many of these kids likely did not have parents or at least have parents that knew where they were. We are kidding ourselves if we think these rings don't extend into every country in the world and if these law enforcement officers would have taken time to think before they publicized this, this freak could have provided them with a link to these operations.

I agree its a travesty for a neighborhood abuser to molest children and I don't think a child ever recovers. How could they? But think of the many children whom have no one to turn to for comfort and who have no vision of life any other way but to endure such pain every day of their lives.

These organizations have to be shielded from law enforcement at a high level in many countries to continue to operate. These organizations pose a dier threat to people of all walks of life and they should be routed out without sympathy.

I personally place no value on the life of someone who would do such a thing...absolulty none and to the person early on who offered the bullet to someone who'd use it, pal you found someone. An adult who would betray the innocent nature of a child or (ugh) infant has no more redeambable quality and I would feel less aphrehensive in pulling the trigger than in setting a mouse trap. This is not a human, this is a demon and should be treated as such.

this is a kind of a non-thread. Everybody agrees that this is a horrible crime, and most agree that reporting a number like this is really, really stupid. Well, yeah.

If he had a "log" of his assaults with 36,000 entries, I'd say this particular log is a fantasy. I mean he would not have time to commit the assaults if he had to document everything, in addition!

I'm sure he's guilty as hell, but we deserve better facts and journalism.

what sucks is, if any one of us were to deliver a little bit of old-fashioned justice, we'd get as much or more of a sentence than he's received in other crimes (or most likely) will receive for this. So much of the "justice system" seems to exist to protect the criminals rights and well being. We'll spend hundreds of thousands of dollars caring and feeding this guy, and even more to keep him out of the GP in prison, as we're doing with Scott Peterson. Wouldn't want 'em to get beat up or anything, and have them call the ACLU and sue.

I wonder, were there any racial or cultural or financial background correlations in his prey? Maybe he avoided paternal retribution by canvassing those most likely with absent or non-attentive fathers.

Okay, the number is obviously not that high, but it really doesn't matter.

The point is he molested and raped kids, obviously not 36,000.. but a lot of them.

I don't see the arguement in the thread.. Let's all agree this guy deserves the worst and be done with it.

Screw the death penalty and bring in the torture penalty.

This is one sick man who should have been locked up in a MAX security prison cell in the first place without a single contact with anybody (except his lawyer)! I'm shocked by this news.

No child should have been used to satisfy some carnal lusts of a value-challenged individual like this sick man.

Lock him up at prison for good.
