Having a look at most electric cars they are truly boring, who the hell wants to buy a car that out cannot make your own

Look at teslas, they all look the same there’s no customisation possible, they are all white.

It’s not like I can make a cheap mod to gain more power such as change a cam, port the heads, throw a set of a :Extractors on it . Or a cheap mod change the carb jets.

Thought to get the ludicrous package is 10k, on a Tesla.

Look at the lies on Tesla auto pilot by musky, where he stated you can get in the car sleep, and arrive at your destination.

Though a fellow playing games on his phone involved in a fatal crash where he died. Tesla blamed this on the driver innatention, though musky sold this as they car will get you there safely….ha ha ffs

At least with a petrol motor, I can drive hours and hundreds of kilometres, and recharge in 5 minutes, not having to worry about range or charge anxiety.

Al least cars like a fire escort or a lances delta intergrale, or a classic Range Rover, a Pontiac gto all had character and individuality.

Look at the cost to replace a battery in a Hyundai ionic more than the cost of the car.

Though Scotty explains this well:

ah ha! a petrol head. That gene missed me in my family. The order of things i see in a car is first the stereo, then how much does it cost to run.

Still, the thought of going above 30mph and not being on control frightens me. Computers make mistakes and I don't like the idea of being in an accident above that speed. Ultimately that's my reasoning for being a luddite.

So, don't buy one.

But if others want to, don't make a big deal of it.

I miss old cars that had "Smiles" because of two round headlights and a chrome bumper.

Old farts have the best memories.

Got my Jeep Rubicon ready to sell. I drove a Challenger Hellcat the other day with my name on it. Next year, all Electric, no more Hellcat.

They mentioned last night on Fox news that enviromentalists are now turning against electric vehicles. They have learned about all the mining to get the resources to build them. Also all the extra energy needed to charge them, much more then just burning fuel in an engine.

The 'miainfirmation' abour electric vehicles being green is falling apart. The truth is coming out. Going green is turning out to be burning fuel in an engine.

Nothing like cruising around in an old car, doesnt even have to be from the 70`s era either. A nice clean Lincoln Town Car or Buick Riviera from the early 90`s puts any Tesla or luxury SUV thing to shame in the looks department.

Power doesnt mean as much as some might think, build them to last is way better. Ive seen many cars get modded up real nice only to last a few short years until a catastrophic failure that puts them in the junkyard. Meanwhile a properly maintained and serviced Town Car or Crown Vic can hit 300,000 miles and keep on going. I`d love to see a new vehicle hit that and pass a compression and cylinder leak down test after 30 years.

ICE cannot hold a candle to electric in terms of performance. I think they have personality, it is just different than the mechanical noise we are used to with ICE.

Electric can be modified. You just do it with a computer changing the electronic speed control settings. Worse case you can swap out the electric motors. Electric is much more simpler than ICE in this regard.

I love ICE cars though. Nothing sounds like a great v8, v10, or v12. Just a mechanical symphony of explosions.

The future is here though and ICE will be soon just be a niche for hobbyist imho. Give it 10-15 years. Most cars will be electric.

No.1 is a Ford.
No.2 is a Holden.
No.3 is a car I created in an A.I. program a couple of years ago.

Personally, I'd love a 1960s British Morris Minor. Custom "Gasser" style of course. I used to have a '64 "Moggie" and it was amazing. Only an 1100cc engine but I could still race it on the streets for fun. The front seats folded down and forward and plenty of "head"room for me and the girlfriend in the back to steam up the windows in a car park. I put a fiver of fuel in it a week, never touched the oil or water and the only downside were the crappy brakes. Plenty of room under the bonnet (hood) too for monster engines but I never got that far.

Oh what fun to shake the streets with something like this and scare the old "wrinkleys" again .....Morris Minor "Gasser".

That was being said last Millenium me thinks.

Men will always enjoy tinkering with dirty, smelly things that go fast and go bang and will always love driving them.

I think Chevy's EV Blazer is pretty sharp and stands out.

For some jobs, there's still no replacement for old school:
