If they are capable of friendship they're capable of so much more... We're all liars in my eyes including the celestial ones, even Jesus had his moment in the desert which I guess is pertinent to the thread. A lie might not be a lie if you believe it at the time, how can a lie be a lie if you mean it?

The sentiment is similar though, if the devil was real I'd have sympathy for the poor sod, he would be the poorest amongst us all. For me it's not about the darkness but the willingness to step aside. Some shadows are far colder than others.

I dont believe in the devil, but I think evil and evil entities exist. I think the devil is just one way for people to describe strong evil paranormal beings. Many cultures have a devil sort of being that is very similar, so I think the devil is just describing evil in sentient form.
