They could on relative altitude, but not as stable as a helicopter I assume.

I'm still unconvinced that the BBD's are blimps though...Perhaps hyper-sonic blimps...

At very low altitude. VTOL uses thrust vectored downward that is aimed at the Earth. VTOL aircraft can't hover at altitude like helos do.

But isnt that what the black triangles does? I mean, they hover at low altitudes in the sightings I've read. When high up, they are usually flying somewhere, no?

Besides, we can still add "advanced" to that... Who knows how a next gen VTOL could behave. Theoretically there are no limitations
