Saving Me

I plucked some stars out of the sky,
Pulled Halley’s tail as it passed by,
Collected drops of fresh morn dew,
So I could give new breath to you.

I traversed the Backwards Galaxy,
To reverse and change reality,
So all your dreams would come true,
And you could live your life anew.

I whispered sacred words of old,
To keep the hands of death on hold,
So you would have the time you need,
To finish all your worldly deeds.

What I didn’t expect to materialize,
Is the love I felt when I saw your eyes,
And how that touched my very soul,
A love I thought I’d never know.

I thought that I was saving you,
To do the things you needed to,
But now I have come to see,
You were the one saving me...

blend57, I love it! It's immensely tender and profound.

With your very first line I immediately thought of a Duran Duran song and video, What Happens Tomorrow.

Very fitting, IMHO. An inspiring song for an exquisite poem.
