Green USA policy versus China / Chinese Coal Imports on the Rise

I invest in USA stocks. Much bad in the news as several USA banks have failed and we have a Train Wreck in the West Wing of the White House and throughout all branches of government. 74% of all Americans agree with me. Then we have the 700,000 migrants at the Southern Border, a luanitic screamer from the Bronx, another in Sweden and a rainbow unicorn on a can of beer. Plus a former President in court for whatever with a porn star and some guy named Hunter whosse father says "he has done nothing wrong". So did Mr. Biden just obstruct justice or is that Merrick Gralands speciality along with Adam Schiff and the California Crusaiders on a fast track to hell. Meanwhile back at the ranch, schools and other institutions are shoving the transgender adgenda up our arse as since they like it we must also. Otherwise there will be consequences for us. It used to be said that the CIA controls the USA media. Well they better wake up as they depend on Mr. Depends in the West Wing for their massive pension checks.

The op kind of reminds me of the opening of a stR wars movie where the written synopsis of what is happening in the world flows across the screen.

It's sad to know that this is a reality. You just hit a super amall part of all the chaos. After reading though, one could make a pretty good movie from it.

So, if these sources are to be believed, green energy--such as solar--is only 67% as expensive to install as coal in the US, but about 97% as expensive in China. If that article from Hellenic Shipping that you referenced is to be believed, China is increasing its coal imports for short term benefits for recovering from the Covid lockdowns.

I don't see a conflict between these pieces of information. If you're China and are interested in energy costs for the next 6 months or so, buying more cheap coal is the way to go, since that's far too short a time for any new power generation of any kind to come on line. If you're the US and are interested in energy costs over the next 10+ years, you would be throwing money away to invest in coal.

In Calif McDonald's, Carl's Jr. and Burger King are planing to close most locations in a few months due to Calif saying they must pay workers $22 an hour. So many fast food outlets are just going to close their doors and leave stores like dollar general and CVS Pharmacy are filing chapter 11 and closing many stores or going out of business.

China is forcing many workers out of cities back to farms, and factories are closing down.
likely, china believes when they attack Taiwan, they will sanctioned bed out of the western world and be unable to sell to the west.

Plan for the worst and hope for better. It looks like china is stockpiling coal that they will not be able to buy under sanctions.

Nice catch and I am all for China ramping up its economy ASAP as it will help all even though the USA is bringing back much needed industries.
