Yep, he did a lot of gun running in many different countries for the CIA. (I'm not sure about SA) possibly. He got hired by a lot of different country's airlines for commercial cargo as well, also fired by some of them. His father fired him once and had him escorted to the California border to get rid of him, but he went right back and got hired by some small airline.

Once he did a low flight in some type of plane showing off for friends doing unsafe acrobatics and crashed. Broke a lot bones, lost a lot of teeth. Out of commission for a long time, then went right back to flying.
