I'm thinking because of this news that tourism dollars will again decline.

Tough telling, but they're back at or above pre 2019 numbers already.
Jamaica, as I understand it is kind of like Mexico.
..you stay in the resorts for the most part.

I'm headed to Casa de Campo in the Dominican Repub soon, It's close to Haiti, so hopefully it is safe.

I hope so for your sake. But who is guarding the resorts in Jamaica?

Private security and police, I think
I have a few friends who love Jamaica and Mexico
Jamaica has a problem with fake taxis, I hear

That fake taxi scam is everywhere from what I have been reading. Researching where to travel the world and so far I'm not impressed.

Just don’t wear any camouflage, it is illegal to wear there.

My cousin and sister travelled there, and my cousin (who won’t be told what to do) insisted she was bringing hers. My sister was so worried she registered with the consulate 🤣.

Despite their penchant for getting in trouble together, they made it home ok!
