As the trade fight between the United States and China escalates, many agriculture market participants have taken comfort in the idea that China cannot fulfill its soybean needs without importing massive quantities of the U.S. product.
But that situation only holds in the short term. Yes, as the world’s top buyer, China needs U.S. soybeans today, in a few months, and likely even next year. However, it is not unreasonable for China eventually to wane itself off American beans in the longer term, which could have detrimental and irreversible effects on U.S. markets.
"2020 was the second best year of exports on record. It was a huge year for U.S. agriculture exports according to the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service," he said. "Even with some of those challenges with China, China still remains the number one market for U.S. ag exports and last year, overall, was the second best year on record for U.S. farmers, so not all that bad given the challenges of where we've been coming from China."

Well, actually some of it is old news. But now Biden is doing like what he always does and that is to screw up what Trump was trying to make common sense. On the news this afternoon, it seems like Biden really pissed off Xi or they are bedfellows .
Brazil is taking some of this to their advantage, but what may happen is the AG dept of USA sees trouble for the US soybean farmers.

We need to know who has been flying to China from AG dept to see what kind of " secret " deals are being made including this:

TOP PRIORITY GOES TO THE CONTAINERS GOING TO CHINA LOADED WITH USA SOY BEANS

Remember inflation really on the store shelves is nearing 27%, farmers got to break their contract prices of go under.

I know this is a conspiracy site but I also know many of you know about what is currently happening in the soy bean business in the USA. Sadly the farmers also fell into the " Chinese Spider Web Trap ".

So is China going to say screw it and just buy Brazilian soy beans ?

China for the last two years, with all the flooding and inept management of crop yields, would actually be on their knees instead of just bowing if they really wanted to feed the masses.

Xi has said he wants to transform China back into a Maoist state and cut back on all that dirty capitalist brain think ..Hummm didn't Mao starve several million to death during the great leap forward with that kind of thinking ?

I would figure trade will pick back up once there are enough non fired people to unload and load the ships which are floating off many countries docks full of merchandise...but with the communist propensity of sacrificing the many for the few elite party member's comforts all my bets are off. The good news from my sources is there is a big power struggle going on in the CCP which I hope is true, for if they will dispose of Xi before he starts a major war or starves 20 or so million Chinese to death that's a win win IMO.

So basically if china grows more of it's own or buys it from south America then it will effect a part of the us economy?

How is that China fault or problem?

There are many parts and sections of current and future agreements that work in steps on trade deals. All I'm saying mostly is that the farmer may have relied on exports too much.

We can buy tofu at Donkey Hotei for as little as 19 cents these days. You know the ones that come in the containers.

commodities are fluid.
if China says it won't buy USA soybeans we'll just sell to whomever Brazil was selling to.
USA is a huge food producer. China is a huge food importer. not for luxury but by necessity.
we could easily do without their cheap junk and toys but they couldn't stop importing food.

China is establishing a footprint in Africa. perhaps their long plan is to develop their own food source there. the kleptocrats wouldn't be at all bothered if their people starved while all the food went to Beijing.
(sort of like what the USSR did to the Ukraine)
