Another thread-starter today (who says he isn't coming back to the site) claims that ATS is obviously owned by non-American communists who like Canada. Perhaps that's what he means.

I was simply referring to the fact that the thread had already been closed, as I could see from the gap in my "posts" list. But I had seen andyo6shake posting on it, so that's how I knew he got there in time. No theory at all.

I think so.

As to why it's apparent, think the site is registered in the UK.

Or i seem to recall that being mentioned before in a similar discussion after the site was sold.

Can't see why it should matter who owns the place or where it's registered all the same.

People from all over the world post here after all, and everyone is welcome far as i can establish.

As to the CIA being complicit, i don't imagine such an agency would need to own the place to monitor or know what's being said given the resources at its disposal.

Been busy all day, just noticed that thread has been deleted.
Thought it was pretty much inevitable.

Seen many a member threaten never to come back because ATS is crap etc and then a few weeks/months/years later turn up again with their tails between their legs and/or under a new moniker.

Its a shame its the good members who never come back.....

I'm not sure if the new owner resides in the UK.

The founder of ATS, Simon Grey, is British but he more or less took a back seat a long time ago and left the running of show to Bill and Skinner.

I have no idea who the new owner is - I thought there was only one member who knew but judging by her reaction during the great blackout last year I'm not too sure about that now.

One things for certain; for all it's faults ATS is still by far the best around and I for one am grateful to whoever it is who is keeping this thing going and all the staff without whom blah blah blah.

Could not really give monkeys anyway mate, it's a moot point, i don't really care who owns the site.

As you suggest ATS is still the best place around for banter and debate.
