The Alpaca Conspiracy

Alright, I don't know if any of you have seen the recent television commercials preaching the good news of Alpaca farming, but I became highly interested in this. Quite some time ago my father was contemplating getting some Alpacas. I was puzzled by this...until today. I did some research, and there are enormous benefits to raising Alpacas. Not only can they be sold for a good amount of money, there are various tax benefits as well. My question is why? Why alpacas? Why not penguins or better yet, an endangered animal? I think this could be some kind of government project.
