Well under Obama, he stopped allowing judges to be confirmed full stop causing massive shortages in available judges which has had ripple effects of delayed judicial proceedings for years. Now under Trump has been forcing through judges at the expense of other needed Senate work.

And that's just about the topic of the thread.

In other words, McConnell turned out to be an American hero who stopped the radical Obama in the Whitehouse from politicising the judicial branch and instead ensured that judges who actually uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights were put in place.

Three cheers for Mitch!

This is how you know the riots were actually orchestrated by the Democrats.

No riots over ACB confirmation? Obviously they told their operatives hey the election is next week, we don't need those optics, so please wait.

Exactly. I wouldn't even call them "conservative" judges. They're just judges that actually do their job, as opposed to the kind of judges Democrats want that do the one thing judges are specifically not supposed to do, which is inject their own personal feelings into cases.

those "macabre practices" that were put into place by the "REPUBLICANS" ??? you do realize that roe vs wade never would have passed without the republican supreme court justices voting it into law....you must be so proud

But how will promiscuous women who shirk responsibility be able to kill their unborn and newborn babies for matters of convenience once she helps outlaw those macabre practices?

This is a win for the good guys.

Chicago news didn't cover her approval/swearing in until 20 minutes into the newscast last night.

A good sign!

They got so used to having a rubber stamp, justices who would use criteria other than constitutional...they won't know how to act

When fairness seems like tyranny...you should change your (their) opinion/course of action

3 cheers to the lovely and highly respected ACB.

Agree with this 1000%

Kamala sits there and laughs in your face because she is only good at delivering focus group tested zingers. At crunch time, she chokes. Just like weak joe biden.

We aren't "that" Republican party any more.

We've learned our lesson about appeasement

This is war and we're in it to win it. And judging by last night, we achieved a major victory against progressivism while Dems have no credible response

Thank you President Trump!

If Dems would've worked with the President instead of inventing scandals and scaring the country needlessly, they could've had a seat at the table.

That's OK. ACB will make everyone proud, including Dems, provided their goals are noble (or: they seek only to uphold the Constitution and protect individual Constitutional rights)

This is good news. I personally liked how Nancy Pelosi threatened everyone after the confirmation.

Democrats are now threatening to impeach ACB if she tries to do her job - and does not recuse herself - on any election case.

I really hope Pelosi does it - what incredible optics that would be!

WATCH LIVE: Barrett expected to be sworn in as Supreme Court justice at the White House

Oh my goodness. Google/YouTube is filled with anti-Trump derangement too. How was this video "violating terms"? Geeesh.

The Supreme Court doesn't vote anything into law. They are not legislators.

The Supreme Court is tasked to determine if legislation is Constitutional or not. In the case of Roe vs Wade they were asked to rule on the constitutionality of state laws that prohibited abortion. The SCOTUS decided that no state should have the absolute right to prevent a citizen from seeking out a viable medical procedure that could save their life, including abortion. In addition, they also said that States did have a compelling interest in preserving the lives of unborn children and there was a point where states could regulate abortion procedures.

The part where the SCOTUS dipped into judicial activism was when they set a 'viability date' of 28 weeks on a human fetus.

Roe vs. Wade can be struck down by another SCOTUS or by an Amendment, much like the Dredd Scott decision was overruled by the 13th Amendment.
