I finally was able to watch that movie Parasite.

I think it is something a lot of people on ATS would enjoy watching.

It really delves deep into the different mindset of rich vs. poor.
I found the movie very refreshing, and it kept me on my seat.

What I found interesting is that everyone that watched it with me had different feelings at the end.
We all loved it, but our reactions were starkly different.

***Spoiler***
I really enjoyed how they equated surroundings with rich vs poor. Everything from living low (literally) to
how everything rich seemed higher, cleaner and more open.
It makes one wonder, how much does one's surroundings impact their life. I personally think a lot.

For those that have seen it what did you think of the ending?
What I got from it is that neither poor people or rich can escape death.
In the end aren't we all people that just want to survive?
The rich people weren't bad, and weren't 100% happy, the poor weren't always good, and weren't always unhappy either.
I thought there were some interesting social commentaries about the poor didn't have much, but what they did have they shared. They were often
shown eating together and enjoying camaraderie.
The rich had plenty but often ate alone.

You must be thinking of a different movie than the one that I am familiar with. The one that I know is a 1980's sci-fi movie that I think was made in Australia about a giant worm that develops in a human host and bursts through when it is fully grown. It wasn't a very good movie.

The movie also made history as the first South Korean film to be nominated for Best Picture and International Feature Film.

Have to check it out. I do like the quote by Mark Twain, "The lack of money is the root of all evil". He's joking obviously but it's true for the most part. Some of the most dangerous cities wouldn't be that way if the money had not left town.

Usual high quality cinema from South Korea.

For those that have seen it what did you think of the ending?

Not just specific to the ending, but you were never quite sure where the movie was going, one of the reasons that kept it enjoyable imo.

Some other good South Korean shows:

Signal

Tunnel

Defendant

The Guest

And what is rightfully regarded as a classic in South Korea:

Memories of Murder

I don't have much padding between my tailbone and whatever I'm sitting on and the edge of my seat is kind of uncomfortable so I don't think I want to be on the edge of it for a whole movie.
