~Lighting a candle~

Doesn't mean to lift a spark
To a stick of wax,
Setting it to melt and burn,
Wasting away providing light.
It means, rather, a comfort
Like the welcome return home
A beacon in the window
A lighthouse shining through the fog.
When I ask for a candle, I don't mean
Some entropic object providing
Minimal purpose in this day and age.
But rather, a focus of intention,
However slight-
Even if for just a single second.
To light up my sky like stars
Little beacons of flame
Shining wonder and joy
Into the depths of my soul which
Fill once more with dread.
I don't ask that you delve
Into the abyss to save me
However much I wish that
Someone would, or even could.
Just toss a coin, like a wish,
Into the well, well received
It will be.

Agree with the wise and wonderful members replies above my reply: a beautiful gift, with multiple levels.
Read it 4 times last night, but a reply just didn't come.
Was concerned with the 'abyss' part, and thought that a reply should contain a 1000 foot-long rope ladder, dropped-down for that aspect of it.

But now: have decided to go more the 'lighter' route, as per requested, with a focus of attention.

Would it be too flippant, to flip a coin ?

Took a Lucky-Loonie, and wrote 'L W' on it with a permanent marker.
Put it on my wallet, and so it will follow me out the door tomorrow.
It shall be placed in the first outstretched hand that is encountered tomorrow, to do with as they please.
Took a pic of it, but am unable to post pics.

Many potentialities are carried with the Lucky-Loonie.

Peace and blessings.

Hello Miss Curious... LoL.

Didn't go-out on Friday, so the Lucky-Loonie sat there waiting.
Drove down to the artsy-fartsy part of town, for a sidewalk-sale/street-festival.
Didn't see any folks holding-out a cup on the way down there.
Got a real close parking spot, and was on the closed-off street in a jiffy.

We meandered through the merchants and artists, until we came-upon a busker with a sweet blue tip-jar.
His name is Daniel, or Éric, and he had a bilingual sign on a stand.
He was in a motorized wheelchair, seemed to have no legs, and small arms. ( Possibly a Thalidomide baby. )
Instead of just begging, he had a microphone and a sound-system played tracks, as he sang over the music.

Spent 45 minutes trying to find any online info to link, but turned up nothin.
His sign also mentioned on his sign that he had recorded a CD, named "Eurythmique".

So there you have it!

Ru- L'Avenue du Mont-Royale.
