Some ppl are in prepetual denial. Visions of unicorns and pots of gold, at rainbows end cloud their thought process.

Others are not learned enough in history, politics, or human nature to see the "forrest for the trees", so to speak.

In either case, they are overwhelmed by the MSM talking points, coming from their preferred echo chamber.

Sure. The real socialists within that early communist party were clear in their warnings against Stalin, that he should never ever be allowed near the top of that party. But that did not happen and the ''elites'' who said the right words and held enough power among their own within that party took over and the rest is sad, very sad, history.

One thing, yes a real Communist utopia has never and never will exist. And don't get me wrong here, what I quibble with here is not what they are, but rather what we call them. If we call them commies and such then we use names that are fantasy because as you point out there never was a real communist utopia. What there was was a failed communist state that had been taken over by despots and turned into their own enterprise to utilize in their affairs with the rest of the capitalist system.

My real objection to calling these oligarchs and totalitarians ''communist'' and ''socialist'' is that it removes from discussion even the idea that there is something seriously lacking in the capitalist system itself. As long as we can call it something else we do not look at capitalism with a critical eye and THAT is what I think we need to do.

In the absence of a true communism that will never exist, they serve as the only working definition and example.

It was so great of The President to call them a squad, it puts them in the same glass case together all the time, what one says they all say.

Be more like Canada and Europe? Are you not seeing what's happening in france and Britain and Canada isnt even close to what some are proposing in the states. The US is in a league of their own, sorry to day you gotta sort your stuff out before calling put the rest of us.

Look at how all of our attention is directed at these theatrics. Look at how all of main stream media is dedicated to the make believe fighting between these 2 sides of the aisle.

They are not talking about securing our borders. They are not talking about our current financial issues. They are not talking about our uncontrolled spending or even how it is mathematically impossible to pay back our nation's debt at this point. They are not talking about our wars of foreign aggression. They are not talking about the suicide rate of our veterans. They are certainly not talking about campaign finance reform.

Many of you believe they are just incompetent and/or egomaniacs. I say they are doing exactly what they are told to do. They pretend to make inroads for the illegal invasion of our country, but whoops some judge somewhere strikes it down....how convenient, almost like they are all part of the same team. They never talk about the things that would make a difference, like going after the employers of the invaders. They never talk about bringing our troops home...wait, they did? 4 years ago? How is that working out again?

I mean look at how great our financial markets are doing, to the moon baby. I am positive it has nothing to do with this:

I am just amazed if Democrats are as bad as you Retardicans claim how did the Democrats take back control of the House. If the elections are not rigged then the Retardicans must be completely incompetent. With all the out-of-control gerrymandering it just seems impossible for the Democrats to be able to win any majority.

On election night Cenk from TYT said they were coming for the old school portion of the DNC.

What these guys fail to realize is that their are millions of democrats in the purple fly over states that don't think like the LA and New York elite progressives. They exist within a more conservative culture to begin with, the further the DNC pushes left the further they alienate there voters in these states, to the point that they might not vote or switch to Trump.
Because as crazy as this may sound Trump is now closer to their basic American cultural ideology.
This is why unless the candidate is Tulsi Gabbard, I hope they are utterly wiped out in 2020, defeating what is progressing towards a 21st Century form of American branded National Socialism, that is very dangerous for America.

Meh, Ted Cruz and his flash in the pan Tea Party buddies thought they were going to do the same thing to the Republican old guard, and they were handily put in their place by their fellow Congressmen, now an obscure sideshow. The same will happen with this challenge to the order.

I remember a few years back when people like myself, who were born under communism and saw/experienced what a real socialist economy does to a country, would point out how similar democrat policies more so under Obama were to socialism and communism we would get a whole bunch of democrats claiming that wasn't true. Well, now those same people/members can't make the same claims anymore.

I have yet to see anyone point out that there are many different variations of 'capitalism', and that the system currently in place in America is far from the optimal form.

This is the biggest problem with any and all arguments about capitalism vs any other form of economic system.

Laissez-faire economics as espoused by Adam Smith is the best system that we could employ, but sadly, we never have.

You mean the less than average 'gains' in the House that are the norm for any mid-term? The ones where a whopping 40 republicans were retiring, so there was no incumbent, which makes it much easier to get flipped?

Don't worry, things will become much clearer to everyone when the dems lose bigly in the 2020 elections.

Serves them right for all the eggshells they've been walking on to pretend like they actually care. Now it's biting them in the ass and will continue to do so until the democrats can stop blaming whitey for any of America's negative impacts. They'll continue to push more and more support away until they collapse entirely. Then there will be a split in Republicans that make the two party system. Then we'll repeat this all over again.
