"Thats the last one." Bill exclaimed to himself
as he admired his handy work.

"What are you doing, Bill?" Alice asked while she walked
up to the shrubs that divided their property.

"Oh look, my nosey next door neihbor, Alice," Bill said
rolling his eyes to show his disdain for her.
"I am just ensuring that last year's hedonistic display of contempt from my
furry little friend will never happen again."

"What do you mean?" She replied trying to brush off Bill's abrasivness toward her.

"Well, it's none of your business, but if you must know, last year that
damnable god forsaken bunny took things way to far. But this year, oh
yes, this year, will be different."

"Are those traps, Bill?" Alice asked while looking at his front yard.
"Let me get this straight, you are going to trap the Easter Bunny?
Really? You believe in the Easter Bunny?." Alice smirked.

"Oh, he's real alright, and I'm not going to just trap him,
I'm going to end him!" he replied wild eyed.

"Bill, listen to me. The Easter Bunny isn't real." Alice retorted
with her head down, mouth open and eyes looking up at Bill
like he was insane.

"Shut up! You're an idiot and the Easter Bunny is real, and he's
been toying with me for ten years now. This year it stops." replied
Bill in all his dickish glory.

"Toying with you? What are you talking about?" Alice asked with a
befuddled look but in a 'kiss my a$$' sort of way.

"Ten years ago, he started placing his damn eggs on my lawn.
At first it was just a few, arranged to spell out words, words
that let me know he didn't like me. Every year it became more
and more egregious, until finally last year, I woke up to find
he had piled up eggs, a foot deep, on my damn lawn!" Bill raged,
pacing a few steps.

"Well, whatever. A fool is a fool I guess." Alice calmly replied
as she left to go back into her house.

"We'll see who the fool is!" Bill barked while mumbling words under
his breath that Alice could barely make out, but chose to ignore.

As Alice walked through her doorway, she looked around at all the boxes
of eggs she had bought over the last year and thought to
herself, 'Has it really been ten years since I moved in here?'

The End.

Good one. Two old farts who would probably miss each other. A really refreshing story.

Funny story, I like the endings to short stories as you have written.

Haha yes! I wonder how many more Easters it will take before Alice drives Bill right over the edge?
