Health care is a great juicy business that moves millions of dollars around the world, from pharmaceutical laboratories to clinics, hospitals and of course an army of specialists.

There are physicians that are charging incredible high fees for services that they claim alleviate or control the advance of incurable ailments, like terminal ones as Cancer, Aids, Leukemia, Lupus, etc.

So you can imagine what happen when suddenly there is a Saint that has the fame to perform miracles that may cure those same illnesses, some of them could feel menaced and reacted fiercely to try to defend what they believe is their territory.

That is the sad reality, although not all the physicians think in the same way, father Pio founded a Mercy Hospital for poor people in which hundreds of health care professionals were volunteering or working for really modest salaries.

Who do you think are the enemies for instance here of Obama care? who are behind the political promises made by irresponsible politicians to bury such a very important social law?

I am not surprised at all that from the Medical profession emerged gray eminences discrediting without mercy Father Pio, accusing him of to be a mad man or a hoax faker, they were not trying to expose him, but defending their group interests over the general public interest.

Thanks,

The Angel of Lightness

Padre Pio also levitated and bilocated at the same time...

One of the strangest stories of this century is that of Padre Pio, the mystic and stigmatist whose life was full of bizarre occurrences. During the world war when a squadron of planes was flying over an Italian town to bomb it, they reported seeing a monk, floating in mid-air over the city, as well as a type of force field that prevented them from firing their munitions. The confused commander called them back in, and sent another group of planes to finish the job. However, the second group reported the same scenario: flying monk with force field.

After the war, the commander visited this small Italian town, and realized it to be the home of famed Padre Pio, whom he recognized perfectly from the pilots’ descriptions. Not only had Padre Pio been flying over the town, but he was also bilocating at the same time (his body showing up two separate places at once!). During this entire time, Pio had been interceding heavily for his city that it would be protected. In awe of what had happened, the army commander came to faith.

sonsofthunderpublications.blogspot.com...

General Luigi Cadorna, Supreme Commander of Italian Army, after the defeat of Caporetto, on November 12, 1917 was about to shoot himself. A friar appears in front of him. "General, you will not do this stupidity!"

After the war he heard about Padre Pio and went to visit unannounced. Padre Pio from afar: "Yeah, general, we had a narrow escape that night!" (In 1917 Padre Pio was an Active Duty in the Italian Army, on sick leave).

On June 25, 1950 Padre Pio was seen attending to the death of a fellow monk in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, without leaving the convent. When asked about it he said: "If Christ multiplied the loaves and fishes, why cannot he multiply me."

So let me get this right, your God wants people to suffer these horrible wounds, inflictions to prove to people it exists
The Holy Spirit that is about peace love and order wants people to have nail hole wounds in their hands so...

You should think about this ridiculous example of proof you believe in
No wonder normal people think the religious are nutters

You just said: "So let me get this right"....

But you got it so wrong, and did it by choice, and with contempt.

Well don't be afraid to explain why God needs to make people bleed from open wounds to prove He exists or show He is God
I can't put it all together

God doesn’t make people bleed to show He exists. Some people so immerse themselves in the love and sacrifice of Christ , that they take on the sufferings of Christ.

St. Pio was a very Holy man , and someday I believe you will understand that about him.

Well, the answer is very simple and straightforward, because there are in the world a lot of very skeptic people that only believe in what they can smell, see, and touch, they are trapped by the materialistic superstition that has taken control over our civilization.

For that kind of materialistic people Stigmata is way they can understand something that lives beyond this world for the impact it can cause on a human body they can test with their senses. Perhaps some of them are Atheistic perhaps they are only religious or spiritual people that do not trust easily to anybody, in other words they are only devotes of St Thomas Apostle, Saint Patron of skeptics.

Any physician can tell us how difficult is to even maintain alive a person that is bleeding constantly for a span of time from 1918 to 1973, that is for 55 years in a row, that is by itself a miracle. He was not only alive, but healthy and even able to work everyday of his religious life.

Thanks,

Excuse me but of course I needed to respond other members posts besides all of yours:

Since the very beginning of the thread I clearly quoted St Paul, who is considered the Apostle of the Gentiles, author of about half of the New Testament, as to have been the first one experiencing Stigmata.

If the words of St Paul are Not considered Biblical Nothing it is, and about your extremely bold claims against Christian tradition are of course fruit of ignorance.

I pray for your conversion and that your words talking about witchery may Not be counted as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Where did Paul experience stigmata?

First at all is St. Paul, it is is not your neighbor or mine to refer to him without proper title and with such familiarity, considering that he is a major foundation pillar of the Christian faith.

Second the quote from one of his letters is in the opening post of the thread.

“From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen” (vv. 17–18)

- Galatians 6:17–18

Could just be scars and brands of a convict
Paul was subject to violence, you are drawing a long bow to say it was stigmata in this instance
But if you want to believe then fine, I disagree

Paul, he is my brother in Christ, you can feel free to worship him, I worship God not man
Yahweh, God, Jehovah asked us to refer to Him as Abba Father, that's a little familiar isn't it, yet I am supposed to give Paul a title when God didn't even want one from me
Your theology is warped

Well Sheye, he was a man living in holiness by sure, No body can have all the major multiple gifts of the spirit he showed along his entire life span without being it.

We are Not just talking of the Stigmata itself, there was bilocation, healing of incurable ilnesses, protection of that region from a bombing in modern war, talking in languages he never studied, levitation while praying, his body is preserved incorrupt and without the Stigmas now!!

All these wonders were witnessed by multiple people, and certified medically, beyond any possibility of hoax.

I disagree with the idea that he caused to himself the Stigmas in anyway, even the autosuggestion, it was not his mind creating it.

The Stigmas were expression of his perfect communion with Christ, as it was the Cases of St Francis or St Paul, who was never crucified by the way, he died decapitated.

St Paul never met Christ during his public life, he was a teenager living in his native Turkey when Jesus died, he never watched his Crucifixion, he couldn't be self suggested at all.

Yes Dear NoCorruptionallowed,

His mental attitude is blocking his understanding, he is seeing on this event what he wants to see, nothing else, his judgements respect the miraculous life of St Father Pio are absolutely subjective..

The scriptures are very clear respect that kind of irrational fanatic skepticism:

There is no worst blind that who does not want to see, No worst deaf that who does Not want to hear.

Father Pio was a very humble man, he never lost his ground, he always gave glory to God, he never boosted any cult to him at all.

Thanks for your reply.

The above is what I meant by my post. Didn’t mean to infer it was anything else.

I read a great book about him once , and what struck me was his dedication to the sacrament of reconciliation. Up to fourteen hours a day he would spend in his confessional , and his communication with guardian angels was so astute that he could often remind the penitent of sins forgotten within the confessional.

Yes, indeed he had a kind of ability to read people very well and check inside their past and present actions what they were hidden in a confession.

That gave him a reputation of clairvoyant in some sense, very look like the way the gospel describes how Christ could know thoughts of other people.

Thanks

That is a really interesting story what you have brought on the paranormal abilities or gifts of Father Pio, it is remarkable since it is not just that he was able to bilocate but that he had some strange power to affect natural forces, since anyway a levitation up to at the same height of formation of clouds on the sky involves not only to defy the gravity but also to be able to overcome the force of currents of air and also to effect of the so low pressure on the physiology of the human body.

Now, about his bilocation I know he was seen by friars a little before to pass away praying on his knees at the altar of the Volto Santo in Manoppelo. The distance between that sanctuary and San Giovanni Rotondo is considerable.

A little earlier that morning, a fellow Capuchin and friend of Padre Pio, Fr. Domenico da Cese, went to open the church at Manoppello, more than 200 kilometres away to the north, in the province of Abruzzi. Inside the church he found Padre Pio on his knees, his head in his hands, before the image known as the Holy Face. Padre Pio said to him: “I do not trust myself any more. Pray for me. Goodbye until we meet again in Paradise.” Within 24 hours, Padre Pio died in his cell in the friary at San Giovanni Rotondo.

I had a mentor once who introduced me to Father Pio. He was a mysterious person that always caught my imagination. I see him as being akin to Saint Catherine of Alexandria.

Was he an ascending master? Who knows. He was a truly good person from what I remember reading about him.

I actually think of him often. I wonder if his stigmata wasnt psoriasis like I get on the "stigmata" spots. If you scratch them when irritated the skin can bleed. If you smoke they will smell like tobacco. Things like that.

Thanks for bringing him up either way. Father Pio was a mysterious and interesting person.
