I'm left handed and I prefer lever action rifles; particularly for shooting small game, and when you have multiple targets. I have several scoped
lever actions, because I have trouble working a bolt without looking down at the action. I can unload a lever action without taking my eye off the
scope/iron sights.
I prefer the ubiquity of 22lr ammo. The magnum can a bit harder to find, like it was after Sandy hook. But if I found a nearly new Henry for a third
of retail, tyeah I'd snap it right up. Hard to believe the seller couldn't have gotten at least $450 for it. It's reliability and retail value would
make me interested, even if I didn't otherwise want that particular shootin' iron.
Anyways, I hunt deer with a scoped lever action; so I am definitely a fan of the platform. And small game is a continuous prospect. Whereas deer
only come up for 2 months out of the year.
I have an excellent recipe called "squirrel for two."
