Like my title, I am doing a happy dance. In the past 6 weeks I have lost 15 pounds.
I am not starving myself on any type of diet,no carb counting or eating only certain
types of food.
I started a job back in mid-december and my work is physical. In just doing my job,
getting off of my sofa and computer desk,I started to lose a few pounds. To keep
up with the weight loss and my goal to keep it off.I have been doing the following.
I eat a high protein breakfast and drink a glass of grapefruit juice. For lunch,I have
been drinking a high protein chocolate milk beverage and water. For dinner,I have
been eating any type of meat and salads, including pasta salads, only in smaller portions.
Once a week,I will have a sandwich with chips and a beer,or have french toast,or
a slice or two of pizza,a Little Debbie snack cake...just not too much!
With too many fad diets, there are restrictions on food types.Yes, you will lose
weight, but you will probably gain it all back. You should never deprive yourself from
eating your favorite foods.I had learned the following many years ago and now I am
going to apply it to my life...
Breakfast time, you should eat like a king, lunch time like a prince and dinner time like
a pauper.I should be at my goal weight by early summer.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Glad to hear someone around here is happy, truly!

Years ago I reversed dinner for breakfast and had amazing results. You're right it's easy-peasy and makes all the difference. Back in the day country folk had things right with a massive breakfast and small evening meal. I'm trying to get back in the habit myself, but am still having problems eating enough before work.(no appetite at 4am) I finally got the lunch thing down to veggies with a little meat, but then it kind of goes off the rails.

Mostly due to not enough planning and being exhausted after work.

Am thinking I need to plan on some homemade soups to grab for dinners instead of whatever is laying around.

for over 40 years I`ve been telling people that the best diet is a hard days work.
the best cure for insomnia, a hard days work.
the best cure for depression, a hard days work.

a hard days work will cure a lot of what ails you.

or kill you?
ROFL!

I do at least three miles a day at work, five on a bad day, and can honestly say it's cured me of ever wanting to walk for fun. Breaking in my workboots was excruciating.

That is true about being tired and just eating whatever is quicker.
I have been cooking up foods in advance to eat on during the week.
I will be making a pot full of homemade macaroni and cheese.Maybe
cook up some greens and make some slaw.
I cut up these veggies and cook them into almost everything.

1:Fresh jalapenos,chopped
2:Red onions and yellow onions,chopped
3:Tomatoes,chopped
4:Green bell peppers,chopped
I mix all of these into a large bowl and keep in my fridge, covered up of course.
I use these in my cooking and for quick salads.

Thanks!

Any tips you have would be appreciated. I used to do the same with tomato, onions and cucumbers for salads with balsamic instead of dressing. Then I got out of the habit.

(hangs head in shame)

Lately I just grab a instant cup of soup for something easy and hot but even I know it's junk food. Altho I add some frozen veggies to it for bulk. Despite all this I lost 30lbs last year just cause I did like you and took a physical job. Got 25 left to go but am desperately needing to change a few things to make that a reality.

Time is my biggest enemy, about one hour in the am then out the door, and about 1 1/2 before bed time. My weeks are just shot.

Good going! Keep up the great work🤗

But...
(SIGHHHHHH) I lost 28 lbs, I feel spectacular.
But here comes the wrench in the gears.
Tomorrow is the Pittsburgh Steelers big game. So the crew and myself have decided to splurge a bit.
We are getting "Battle Shipp's" They're loaded sandwiches just over 2 feet long.
It's from a local Pittsburgh bar.

I'm such a glutton.

"WARNING"

My weight loss diet continues. 🙄

Just eat on the meats and cheeses and drink about 2 beers.
I hope the Steelers beat the Patriots! I can't stand that team.

Some other things that I would like to mention here.I will be turning
62 next week and as you grow older it is harder to lose any meaningful
weight.
I got off of my fat rear end and I am doing physical work and keeping
very busy.As some of you may have noticed or not,I am not on here
as much as I used to.
I am no weight loss guru and have been a yoyo dieter most of my life.
I am now learning to work more and eat less and to eat healthier.

Making that veggie mix I posted earlier helps and can be used in almost
everything.Cooked in eggs,spinach,greens,corn,potatoes,rice,pastas...
As a salad with VERY little dressing.
The Little Debbie cakes I chose to indulge in occasionally are the raisin
cakes.

Good for you Mamabeth!
I have shed some extra weight and it really makes a difference!
I think you have a really smart and healthy plan going here. Your body will know what weight is right and when you see the change you feel it too. for me, less stress on my aching knees and stuff.

Hey Bigb, this is working for me...

Eat your food, no matter how good it tastes, for ten minutes. No more. Your body will catch up (ketchup
) and stop. If you keep on going that is where the calories lie. And weight gain.

And Mamabeth, congrats on the job!!
