Guy spent $9 million on a license plate

Dubai property developer Balwinder Sahni wanted a highly coveted plate bearing the number 5. He wanted it so much, he bid 33 million dirhams ($9 million) for it at a government auction earlier this month.

I don't know, people that work hard to make their fortune like those UAE folks that surely wake up at 3 am to tend their oil fields can spent their hard earned cash they way they like it... but if i had so much to consider spending 9m in a useless number, i think ill rater buy 3k tons of rice and send it to Africa or something...

During the 1930's. my grandfather's motorbike (according to my father) bore the licence number FU2.
It would have cost him nothing (I think it designates the second number issued by that authority in Lincolnshire).
Nowadays it would cost a fortune.

As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, corporations will only need the rich to keep them profitable. The poor can die for all they care the million or so billionaires will pay anything to get a dozen eggs.

What they don't consider is the more money they have the more things will cost them. The more expensive their emergencies will be. The more a dozen eggs will cost.

His money, he does what he wants with it.

As I dont think there is any car that is the value of $ 9 million, so that

small bit of metal aprox 2ft x 8ins must be more valuable than gold
