Hiatus from ATS, things have changed need help!!

I took a few years hiatus from ATS, from 2014 till about a week ago.
So, a few questions:

1- I have no messages in my inbox, outbox, or saved folders. Are messages deleted after a certain period of inactivity?
I had a few messages that I really wanted to save from members, and now I can't remember their names from years ago.

2- This is silly, but... Is there no chat rooms anymore? I really enjoyed the real time discussions.

I had another but it slipped my mind... will edit later.

I've not found a chat- been keeping an eye out for IRC- but I can imagine how worthless it would be with politics getting involved. The boards are barely worth visiting for months leading up to and after us presidential elections.

Not silly, they nixed it. People were clicking up, bullying members... or something.

Chats gone... Shoulda maybe saved messages in 2 yearss.. Nothing lasts forever...

Design. Revamped recently... For the better I think personally.. And contact mods with pm... I think mails may still b round too...

You joined a year before me. Theres still wayback machine people here. Lots of new ones too, since they linked to Facebook and Twitter.

I don't understand this linking business... half the fun of forums is the anonymity!
Meh.. I'll deal with the chat thing.. I honestly forgot how crazy it gets around election time. I might actually go back to lurking for a few more months lol.
