100th Anniversary of Time square ball drop

OK, Yes this is true, tonite marks the 100th anniversary of the ball drop in times square in NYC. But... since nobody has mentioned it and every other Holiday prior too has had thier conspiracies of a terrorist attack, My question is: Why does New Years Eve pose no threat at this point that not a single word has been mentioned of anything about this years event?
